So, since EQCompare had it's TOC changed back to 11200 I decided to try other addons that was said to bring the same functionality. The result was that I promptly went back to EQCompare. Why? Because either I had problems with tooltips being totally messed up in some cases, or I got tons of errors in some cases.
Now I wonder, how can an addon that old work flawlessly but others, that have been rewritten and updated work so badly?
Provide useful feedback for Mirror or tK, or don't bother opening threads. Noone cares about EQC anymore, either use an old version or report bugs you encounter in the others. There's no reason for EQC to be in the updated mods list when it's not been updated.
Erm... RatingsBuster. I forgot it was on back when I could reproduce the blank tooltips, but I have it off right now.
What were you doing when you got those? Specifically, was it just after login (not reloadui) and was it the first time you'd hovered over an item of that type (basically, might your client not have "known" what the compare items should have been?)
That strangeness seems to only show up on the tooltip on Autobar after some looking around.
In my inventory it seems to work fine, except that Alchemist's Stone refuses to show any other trinkets, and if I have Alchemist's Stone equipped I only see the other trinket.
And just discovered that when I hover on loot from Cartograher, but when I click, the correct tooltips are being shown.
The nil error with Mirror should be fixed. I was never able to reproduce the error myself, but it seems that under some circumstances the tooltip gets set without having an owner set. I don't think that that's possible with Blizzard code, so it's probably some other addon that's doing it.
Tek/mirror also don't work with other addons such as JewelTips
Well obviously, JT is adding crap on the side of the tip in the same place. Really stupid question, but what advantage does JT give? It seems to me that there's no point in getting the jewel item's tip because it displays the same info that's added into the main item's tip. Only thing I can think of would be the named enchants ("Mongoose", etc)... but the user damn well better know what that enchant does before they blow all that money on one... so they shouldn't need an extra tip.
Side note, JewelTips uses TipHookerLib... that makes me a very sad panda. I'm ashamed that THL even exists, it's not needed at all in every addon I've seen use it.

Which raises the question, is Autobar doing something abnormal in the way they set tooltips? If you move off the item and hover again does it display correctly? That always worked for me in the past (hence why I wonder if the info is not cached yet, because it also only seemed to happen for me on the first login, not after reloadui's).
Sadly, I don't have an alchy stone, so I really can't test on that one at all. Do you get tips if you hold shift when you hover on it? If not, it's something wrong with Blizzard's end, and you should report it on the forums. tK doesn't do anything really different from the default compare UI, it just doesn't require holding shift, and it works with the ItemRef tip also (the one you have to close yourself).
If I hold the shift down, while hovering on tooltips from Autobar, they get shown "correctly". Discovered some more, if I don't check a trinket in my bag first, tK shows none of the trinkets I have equipped. And if I do, they are bugged, but not if holding shift.
And no tooltip for the Stone however I try, with or without shift, so I'll see if I can find the correct forum for such things on the EU servers.

So tK tips NEVER show right for you? Every time I was able to get the blank tips moving off the frame and back on fixed them. Man I really don't want to muck around in autobar's code... I'm afraid of what mess I'll find...

No, I do get correct tooltips from tK from items in my inventory, chat and quest log. Or is that some other mechanism?
Edit: But in Cartographer and Manufac all tooltips from tK get bugged. So it's probably not only Autobar.

care to elaborate?

it was explained on the last couple pages of the main thread.
With Mirror I got an error, some conflict with KC_Items it seemed. But the error seems to be impossible to replicate.
Now what would you suggest to use ? Mirror or Tekkompare ?

Also, can you reproduce with RB turned off?
Although some trinkets show up correctly. Strange.
Only happening with trinkets? Seeing any consistent pattern?
This thing has been a pain in my ass...
