GC's life will last until some patch breaks it to the point it will become really unusable. It is Combine's chance, as well as Ace2's chance to take yet another chunk of the addon users community.
Bumping posts does nothing, and is (IMO) somewhat rude to ask someone to hurry up with something they don't get paid for. Kaelton will get around to working on this project when he gets around to it, and if you can't wait that long then grab the source from the SVN and branch it yourself.
I was merly bumping it so others might see that this is an project to make an ace'd guild/raid management addon and also so that Kaelton can see that there is some ppl out here that still want this and if thats begging then yes i beg.
If Kaelton get stressed about the bumping then im the first to say im sorry but i also do think that he can speak for himself if that is the case.
And obvious the bumping did something tho, it made u respond so thats a good thing =)
I'm interested in this mod because it would make my Addons load a lot faster. I recently became Aced and my WoW installation loads a million times faster. I would love to be able to suggest a Guild Event Manager that is Ace2 to keep this speediness. If it's not in the mix anymore perhaps could I attempt to continue the development. I haven't developed anything before but I would attempt to if that would help this mod come out.

From what I recall, kiki, the developer of GEM was going to make GEM3 possibly ace based. But that was a loooong time ago and I'm not sure what is going on with that now.

Ace isn't a super efficient magic device that speeds up addons or lightens them (and can in many cases make an addon heavier, due to the fact that framework on libs need to be loaded in addition to the standard code). The fact that you've seen an increase in load time is a mere coincidence. (It's likely you were lucky enough to find lighter addons by cooicidence and the presence of Ace isn't at fault here. It's also possible you dropped a super heavy addon because it wasn't Ace and as a result saw faster loading time with your new Ace UI.)

Any news on whether this will see the light of day?
I would really like to see this come true one day soon =)

That was the last update to a library embedded within Combine. Combine itself hasn't been touched since June.
Guild Event Manager (GEM) really needs an alternative.
