I'm in the process of trying to minimalize my memory usage for the addon's I'm running in the game. FuBar PerformanceFu is great at telling me what my top 3 mods are that are the biggest hogs. On a good day, the heaviest mods are:
Lootlink
ArenaMaster (Not positive what this does)
FuBar
I know Lootlink is a database that allows you to search many different items in game with various ways of collecting said information. I also believe that it adds a note at the bottom of a tooltip when I hover over a vendor sellable item what the price would go if I sell to vendor. I love that feature, and I feel that was the only reason I enabled Lootlink again.
Is there any Ace2 mods that would handle this, that utilizes 5mb or less for memory? Or any other thing that's great for notifying me out in the field how much something would sell for?
LootLink takes a lot of memory because it keeps a local database of all items you've ever seen. There are other addons that only read wow's local item cache, which means they don't spend space on a database. If memory usage is that important to you, you may have to give up having a database that's independent of the item cache.
There are alternatives to Telo's LootLink. You can get an addon like ItemPriceTooltip or SellFish or another standalone addon for showing vendor price in tooltips. ToolTipExchange or Ludwig (not Ace based) are lighter alternatives to LootLink for the item browsing feature. Ludwig generates a database from your local cache which holds any item that you have seen recently while ToolTipExchange caches item names and rarity.
What does PT3Browser do? I can't find any description or screenshots anywhere... is it basically just the item browsing portion of Lootlink? I'm liking how SellFish looks, I am assuming that the addon is also adding the %'s of skills that things give you? It said like +18 Agility is 24% increase...
I'll try and take a peek at the other mobs also. I really don't use the item browsing feature, maybe twice? Usually I look up my items on database websites such as thottbot, wowhead, etc... the only thing I find the database good for is if I need to link it to a friend, haven't found a viable reason to even have it.
If you want a compact vendor price mod, try the previously mentioned ItemPriceTooltip (or at this link). Ace2 & very memory efficient. Like the previous poster said, what it does is show vendor values for items in tooltips, which is what you are looking for. Same purpose as SellFish, but designed differently (and is Ace2). Also keeps its prices up-to-date more frequently than any other vendor price mod.

Nope, that's a different mod. The only information ItemPriceTooltip (and SellFish) gives you is vendor prices.
For a mod very similar to Telo's LootLink (a full item database mod that you can link items from, has vendor prices and everything), but uses a fraction of the memory, try ItemSync (also Ace2). Latest version/libraries at this link. For a database to get you started, go here here: ItemSyncDB (Official ItemSync DB Addon). It records items seen, has a GUI box to do searches for items in and so on. Has not been updated in quite a while, though.
PT3Browser (Ace2) previously mentioned allows you to look up & link items contained in the PeriodicTable-3.0 library. Doesn't record new items like ItemSync does and doesn't provide vendor sell prices, either. Also is a lot more minimalistic than ItemSync; no GUI, etc.. May be the ticket if you are looking for a fairly complete, yet up-to-date & very compact item database.
Ludwig is another compact option for an item database, but has far less info & capability than ItemSync is capable of, because it can only search your local cache.
TooltipExchange: "This addon is not designed for low memory usage. As all searches are sent to every client using it, its main optimizations are for fast searching. Also presisting full item tooltip data requires adequate memory consumption." (from its Wowinterface.com home page).
Good luck.
EDIT: I gave the latest PT3Browser a try (r37287, PeriodicTable-3.0 lib r44954). The search function doesn't work, so the mod is next to useless.
As in you access the search box through the PT3Browser FuBar menu "Item Search". Type in an item name verified to exist in PT3 as well as in the PT3Browser menus, such as "Netherweave Bag" (without the quotes). You can verify an item is known through PT3Browser headings such as "Container", "Gear" and so on. Chatbox feedback: "Not a valid item: Netherweave Bag". Same feedback with anything else known to exist in PT3/PT3Browser.
Recommend instead the ItemSync mod (mentioned above) as a full featured Ace2 low-memory alternative to LootLink.
