As far as I've seen, it's purely for aesthetic purposes. Personally, I think it's an awesome idea and I'm watching with interest. If it eventually changes the basic look of everything in the game, the possiblity arrises that one could grab it, change it however one wants, and make the entire UI match... It's not a huge deal, but for those of us who are a bit obsessive about our UIs, it's a neat idea.
im hoping to see something like that, in the meantime, check out XArt :-)
What exactly is XArt and where can I get it? A Google search only brings up one thread on worldofwar.net I believe and it's a thread asking where to get it as well.

Xart was available via the svn, the author has yet to commit a version here http://svn.wowace.com/files/ where the svn is now available for download
perhaps someone can .toc-zip it ;);)

basically it adds a letterbox texture to the bottom of your screen similar to royalbar (iirc it uses royalbar textures) you should be able to check a screenie of royalbar at any of the major mod hosting sites
cheers
I made a frame that is behind my chat and buttons and crap with oSkin looks.
Here is how i did it. I put this code in a new lua file on oSkin dir and added it to toc file. I dont know if there is a better way... my lua skills are very limited.
Does it really have to have a point? This mod is really just the outcome of a bored person in ZG.
Everything doesn't have to have a meaning. But, But, It's pretty! *LOVE*
I've been working on oSkin as well, just added support for Ludwig, it needed a makeover badly :P
Ludwig support! You may now officially be my hero...
<3 Kyahx
now i jus need to figure out how to make it work w/ quickCompare so they match lol
Any plans on adding a gradient border to the bottom of the UI where most people usually have action bars/chat windows?
Is there a person willing to do command options/GUI for mod options - to choose what to be modified with the oSkin?
Yeah, with the smooth out border and outline option selected. OH MY.
Now we need that red button texture replaced :)
Skywall
Top center of the screen, yes it's the fubar plugin for itemrack.

Ooh and the blue color is just a small modification to oSkin i did, not in the code above.
Oh, and where can i find this Ludwig addon? Can't seem to find it anywhere :-/
