but what is addon-tainting. For example Prat 2.0 has a "Taint-Checker" build in. When I open my Petbar it says that my Petbar has been tainted... . Is "Tainting" the same as a normal Error-Message which you get if a addon has for example improper Translation or other bugs which cause those msgs?
Does addon-tainting decrease performance or does it cause lags?
For example the addon ct_core (ctuf, partybuffs...) often produces errors which are saved in bugsack - is this tainting?
Addon "Tainting" is a change in the security level of some object in the scripting engine. Code and data from Blizzard has a higher security level by default and is allowed things during combat that addons can't do. When an addon modifies this code or data, it "taints" them and they loose their security level and can't do what they could previously.
So in the end Addon tainting can have several effects, from being completely harmless to completely block your user interface in combat.
