I've been having this weird bug with Prat that I didn't have with Confab regarding the ChannelSeperator. I can change officer independantly, and put it into a different chat frame, but for some reason, this setting doesn't stick. I have to redo it after each interface reload/relog.
Is this just me, or could this be a bug with this system?
Regards
Quin
I'm having the exact same problem with both raid and officer channels using ChannelSeperator.
EDIT: After scanning all 25 pages of this thread, I've seen this problem discussed previously. Is there no plan to fix it?
if i just hit R (to reply) it sticks "jim" in my reply to field, which is normal. type my message, but then hit TAb again to change to "bob" it doesnt do that. hitting tab again pulls up a hugemongous list of people in the zone. o.O weird

Use tab to scroll through your previous messages BEFORE you type your response.

yeah :/ i guess i was hoping there'd be a way to do auto-complete only if i type "/send person..." but if i hit R, autocomplete is disabled. /shrug
I am in the Beta now so I will be able to start looking at any beta related issues first hand plus add in any TBC related Chat goodness that might be available. :) I wouldn't look for any really new features until TBC at this point unless Krtek finds some time or I have some free time to to pound out the last couple of pre-expansion features I really did want to add (chat frame controls and chat channel notifications). Keep the ideas and feedback flowing! :)
I got prat and the fubar plugin from svn and configured it. Relog, config roleback to default -.- i tryed to change the profile etc but nothing worked. And there is a strange thing: i click on the fubar2 plugin and it says BabbleLib-2.2 - strange :X Same with /prat about: BabbleLib-2.2
So I disabled BabbleLib-2.2 and loaded again, got an error in the Playernames Modul. And now /prat about says it´s prat and not Babble and it saved my settings. I think there is a problem with BabbleLib-2.2, don´t know.
Would be nice if thit get fixxed. More info? just ask.
Are you running your libraries are externals? I am just curious because I do run all my libraries as externals and I haven't had a single problem with this issue.
Hm nice, I installed Prat with externals and it works =) Nice, but i got all my librarys as addons because of the lag at load, it would be nice if there is a fix or something like that ;)

I'm using Prat with Standalone Libs, and no problem at all :D

Don't take this post the wrong way, I love prat and use it all the time.
I find myself getting a little fed up of updating prat only to find that some extra crappy feature that does the opposite of making my UI look neat and tidy gets enabled by default. When that popup message was implemented I first thought holy crap, wtf is that. Others include the ugly looking <60:name:group> and the neon pink common colour that was added as default. The other annoying one is the chatlink functionality which looks like a joke when pasted into a channel where noone is using a mod that does it
The reason I update is for continued functionality and bugfixes, but I would prefer it if the new features were documented instead of me being forced to see it. It's where this mod has taken the turn from idChat2 (originally lightweight and built to do what it says) to being a jam packed compilation of things that I bet only ~5% of Prat users actually make use of.
Can you do a Prat file, and a Prat_extras like tinytip does? By extra's I probably mean the popup, chatlink etc.
Like I said, Prat is a great mod, but after every update I need to disable a lot of stuff.

Do you throw away SavedVariables files? I don't like the Popup nor the level/group in front of names. But I've toggled thoose modules off once and since then not been bothered by them again.
Just uncheck the toggle to set the parts you don't want to disabled and they will not load next time you update neither.

Would love a nickname option! Pretty please.
Yes! Would like to have such a feature, as well. I belong to a big "gaming community" and we kind of hop from MMOG to MMOG. Therefore we know each other by our forum nicknames and not the charnames in WoW. In order to keep a link between the "real" guy and his avatar, we include his forum nickname in the officer note of the in-game guild listing.
Therefore I suggest to include the following feature in Prat (PlayerNames?): read out the first word of the officer note in the guild list (and store in an own database for faster reference) and put that name in brackets behind the charnames. Example: the name of my mage is "Urson". If I would say "Hello" to my Guild it should read like:
"... [Urson(Urbs)] Hello everybody!"

From the very first post in this thread...
The Prat system consists of the core (Prat/Prat.lua) and a number of integrated Prat modules in the modules folder (Prat/modules/*). The core only provides a root slash command ("/prat") and registers a data file (PratDB). Each Prat module is a self-contained unit of functionality. You can choose to use some or all of the Prat modules depending on your individual needs. If you do not want to use a particular module, you can delete its file from the modules folder or you can toggle the module on/off as desired from inside the game.
The only part of prat that isn't optional is the tiny framework holding the modules together, it doesn't get much more lightweight than that. Delete the modules you don't want from the modules folder and you're done. Simple as.
