Is there any hope of Shifter (Shifter2) being fixed for TBC or does the latest "UI-Function Nerf" break it completely?
I'm not too familiar with LUA, so please excuse my ignorance. All I know is that I just tried to play my druid in TBC and have a really really hard time getting used to pressing form buttons twice to switch forms. :/
//edit: I got shifter to work with the latest TBC build now, it works out of combat but not in combat. Guess its dead. :(
I'll keep an eye on the thread, looks promising. I really miss the functionality of not having to press a form button to get out of it, but you get used to the "Blizzard-UI" way if you are forced to use that. It's still somehow unintuitive and wrong, I agree that the Swiftshift/Shifter-Like behavior should be standard.
Right now I did get Shifter to work just fine (the "old" Shifter version with the TBC Branch Libs), however, only out of combat. Once the character is in combat and I press any of the Buttons, nothing happens. No Errormessage either. The second I drop out of combat it works again. :/
I play a druid so this will be the first addon I will be working on when I either A) get a beta key or B) the 2.0 client gets put on the test servers. For now I won't be working on it anymore though until I can actually test it because I suck at drycoding.
For every Druid out there playing the beta and going crazy with having to click every form button twice to shift out, I believe I found a dirty workaround for it until Shifter is fixed.

They don't have any "spam-protection", so you will get shifted out if you press it too often - but for the most part they work just fine. Certainly better than the default UI behaviour.
Best of luck with the Betakey, Greywind - if you decide to give drycoding a shot anyway, let me know and I'll help you test it all day long.
I have been looking for an Ace2 version of SwiftShift, and have found this one. I downloaded the latest version that is out on the SVN but this version does not seem to be functioning at all. Any clues on what I am doing wrong?
Thanks for the reply and the file, Otto, but I still cannot seem to get it working. No /shifter or /shifter2 command, and nothing I can find in the key bindings to see it going.
If your using myBindings2, it doesn't show. I had the keybindings set up in myBindings and thewy're still there. You might try with just the default keybindings window and look for it there. the original myBindings shows it just fine as well.
I am not using anything that modifies my Key Bindings. The Shifter version does work correctly for me, but I cannot spam the shift keys on it as it works directly like the regualr shift buttons. I was hoping that Shifter2 fixed this but I cannot get it going.

I've disembedded recently, so it has no libraries, but zipped into the old directory should be OK...
