At this moment Popsicle has only Party/Raid support in it.
If you are not in Party/Raid, the ChatFrameX is invisible.
But if you join Party/Raid, the ChatFrameX will open up containing both of the channels, Party and Raid. Yes, they are defined as same in Default Blizzard menu.
1. Create a new ChatFrame, name it what ever you please.
2. Use slashcommand '/popsicle identify' to see the correct numbers for ChatFrames.
3. Set the ChatFrame you created to only show PARTY (This one has Party, Raidchat, Raidwarn, Raidleader and BGchats in it).
4. Use slashcommand '/popsicle group use X' (X = the ChatFrame you wish to use)
5. After this you can use slashcommand '/popsicle group toggle' to toggle the visibility of the ChatFrame
'/popsicle group tab' will toggle the ChatFrameTab on and off (Yes, the one that appears when you mouseover the chat).
Future plans are to extend Popsicle to use Babble-Zone to get the location of yourself and compare it to Big cities. If you are in town, you will get a LFG/General/Trade to pop up on screen. Leaving the town will make the chat to hide.
sounds great, i was wondering if I could request a feature
I always like UI's that have the chat box's transparency set to 0, but somtimes I can't read it, depending on where i am (Tanaris)
Is there a way you could make the transparency change when a message is received in a certain box?
I really like Popsicle's current ability to identify what the chat frame window numbers really are. But...the current version has a major league show-stopping bug (r14717 with its included libs from http://www.wowace.com/files/index.php?path=Popsicle/ . It doesn't seem to be available directly from the SVN).
Zone into any instance or create a new character and enter the game world and the entire GUI vanishes off the screen. Zone out of the instance and the GUI is still gone. No way of doing anything after that unless you kill WoW externally. Its completely unrelated to the default WoW key binding for removing the GUI; the keys no longer work properly after this bug occurs. This problem happens whether or not you are in a party/raid.
Logging into the game with an existing character does not cause the problem. Neither does boat (zepplin)travel. Only the two circumstances noted above (instance zone or new character login). It makes the mod unusable currently.
I have verified that its Popsicle that does this. The first time this happened, I painstakingly disabled and enabled every (newly updated/new) mod I have, logged/relog/killed-WoW and retried entering an instance each time.
