Whenever I create a new chat frame timestamps and colored names works for a few lines, then it just disapears. It worked fine the first time I used idChat2 on my already configured chat windows, but as with creating new windows, it too vanished after a while.
Industrial, I'd like to keep the shortened channelnames for predefined channels (bg, g, rw,...), but the channel1-channel7 abbreviations are causing me headaches as it seems they can't be turned off. The reason why I'm asking for this is that when logging into an instance the channel numbers are different than when logging into a city, as trade/... don't exist in instances. With the effect that my raiding class channels sometimes change their number - and I can't tell which channel I'm in when using idChat2 channelnames.
(hope that was somewhat understandable)
Well, I'd therefor like to suggest to offer something like:
/idchat channelnames channel1 default
which will display the default channelname.
Will you make one idchat2 addon with all the different modules into that we could enable or disable as we want (perhaps with a dewdrop menu etc)?? Makes a little less folders in the addon folder :)
(maybe add the different modules as folders under idchat2 folder and we can delete the folders we don't need?)
Nah :P
Could you please reconsider this? with all the different modules, it's now 11 folders in the addonfolder and 11 downloads when updating...

Figured out what breaks this for me. If a chatframe I use have guild chat, and someone speaks in guild chat, all text after this in the fram will loose any and all of idChat2's formating.
is it possible to totally remove the chatstrings. for example guild i dont wanna see "g <xxx>" as it is green i'll know that its guild. same for the rest

no. no no no. Who cares about the number of addons in your addon directory. And besides if you follow (and should) the SVN logs you only update the ones that are actually updated and not all of them every time.

Ill add on'offs for every channel but thats a whole lotta code and tables for a few tiny options....

yes with the chat commands just supply nothing.
you will have an 'extra' space.

I have all my chat windows separated and works fne for me

Ok how about just one option then that is a toggle for all numbered chats? One setting would be "show channel names for numbered channels" and the other setting would be "show only numbers for numbered channels."
Or is there no distinction that can be made via API to tell that a chat channel is custom and not built-in?
I noticed the "sticky channel" I was wondering if this also includes "Forcing" channels to remain a certin #?
ATM I have
1 - General
2 -
3 - My channel
4 - Alt Class channel
5 - Class channel
Thought I would ask before I changed over compeatly.
sticky just keeps your editbox locked on that message type currently. the only addon i'm aware of that forces certain channel numbers is Cirk's Chatmanager.
Any possibility of adding some sort of indicator to idchat2_Buttons that the window needs to be scrolled down because of new chat being typed out? Very often I'm scrolling up and forget to scroll down and never realise there's something new appearing in the chat window. Its something I'm very much miss having, since the button there used to flash before I installed idchat2buttons. As an idea, perhaps the border of the chat frame could flash every 15secs (or a set time configurable by user) to warn the user, or have a movable single button with a down arrow flashing.

Evil idea that'll make some ppl yell : ability to save the already know classes of idchat2_playernames for future sessions (with a toggle if ppl doesn't want this feature)
Clearly not a must need but may be usefull sometimes
The wiki page talk about a plugin for handling url's, I've actually written it :) (Nothing to do this evening)
My plugin it's attached to this message, feel free to test it.
If the author of IdChat want to, I'll commit it to the SVN Trunk.
Have fun
[EDIT] I've attached a new version, that use the Blizzar StaticPopup fonctionnality instead of FrameXML. If you've already downloaded the previous one, you can safely delete URLCopy.xml from your folder because this file isn't needed anymore.
If Industrial give me the permission, I will uploaded my work to the svn Trunk as soon as I can. (Thx Cladhaire for my account :D)

Easy fix is to get "thelowdown" off the SVN here: http://svn.wowace.com/files/TheLowDown-r10804.zip
It auto scrolls for you to the bottom of the chat box.
Just what I needed, cheers!
Hyperlink support, that would make things easier for everyone!
