Thanks for keeping Archy going - it has long been my sole Archeology mod and definitely the most full-featured. I look forward to seeing what the new version for 8.x and beyond will bring!
I certainly will enjoy all of our old Archy favorites and functionality return, updated for the latest expansion, but I am unaware if there are any other features from other mods that could be useful here. As Myrroddin mentioned above, new features (ie perhaps GatherMate2 support, HUD) from the likes of Archeology Helper could be nice. However, I recall that since the mod was last updated, HUD style addons were significantly nerfed by Blizz in the API during Legion, mostly to stop HUD projections/"Drawing" during raid encounters etc, so it may not be possible to implement today. I would also check out https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/minimal-archaeology - which is one of the last remaining up-to-date Archeology mods. I am not sure it has any features that Archy does not, but it is the closest alternative I've heard of others using while Archy is down.
Just a few words of encouragement while the BFA rewrite is ongoing. Keep up the good work and thanks again!
I am writing here because the link to the Issue Tracker does not work. Sadly the Archy Addon does not work anymore for me. I have still the same addons as before, and nothing changed in configuration. Hope you can fix it or at least identify the problem for a work around.

The issue tracker is turned off because I don't, at this time, want any bug reports; Archy is going to be completely rewritten from the ground up so such reports give no useful information.
Sounds good -- that's the smart thing to do.
By the way, if you need assistance with testing, please feel free to reach out and send me a private message. I have max archeology and have been using the addon for years. Also, while not anywhere near as proficient with the Blizzard addon API as you, I have maintained a popular inventory addon for RIFT in the past, and have been a coder (primarily in C++) since 2002. I used to be on IRC with you back in the good-ole-days of RIFT ...but you may have forgotten me.
Anyway, you probably have all the help you need, but if you want assistance, just let me know. I've been interested in finding a WoW addon project to assist with for a while now. :)
Just chiming in to say thanks Torhal for ALL the addons you maintain, I know it's inglorious work and most of the feedback you receive is people bitching about stuff not working but I have a pretty good idea what the workload is and how much time it takes to maintain stuff so THANK YOU for the work you do, it's greatly appreciated.
Jesus H. Christ! Calm down your tits, brothers and sisters!
The author is working hard on the addon in his spare time. It will be released once it is ready. Or are you paying him for this work? Regular programmers get paid a lot. And addon authors usually do their magic in their spare time.
Watch this series if you think it is easy. Maybe some of you will start coding, too.
Be thankful for the joy of having free addons at all. Nagging is not a good idea.
I was just checking on the state of the addon after realizing Archy wasn't working well anymore, and just wanted to say I'm so glad to see the project is still running and I'm so grateful that you authors do what you do to add to our gaming experience. Cheers!
