Yeah and instead of doing the right thing and handing it over to someone who wants to actually continue development on it he's just gonna leave it for dead and ignore it like he has with all the rest of his projects.

While I am not happy that we have not seen a version to work with all the changes Blizzard has made to the maps and API’s, don’t dump on him like this. This isn’t a paid job, he wrote addons for a game he enjoyed. Let it go. If anything, write him nicely to see if there is anyway that you can help. Do you code, or know someone who does? Maybe make a suggestion instead of just tearing him down. He has a whole plateful of work to keep up with what he does for Curse.
If anyone feels like picking it up, they can always simply fork the add-on and create their version that handles the changes. I know for the fact that some of the mappings are really a PITA to do. People should not feel entitled in any way - like many said it's a free addon.
I wonder if Blizzard cares enough about Archaeology to do some data mining to figure out the percentage change on the number of folks pursuing archaeology now versus when this addon used to work. Personally, I haven't even looked at Archaeology since this addon stopped working...
Yes, it’s been an adjustment, and while there were a lot of nice features in Archy, the profession is in no way majorly hampered by this add on no longer being maintained. Blizzard has made improvements, and the add on Minimal Archaeology adds some worthwhile features. I’m sorry for having to “promote” this in this forum, but don’t discount it.
When you survey, the lamp is Red/Yellow/Green, depending on how far away the actual dig is.
Archy had an indicator of how far you had moved from previous dig, showing Red/Yellow/Green to help you getthe correct distance.
What happens now, and I’m thinking this is the default. Though it may be the other add on. As you move in the direction shown, if you can’t judge the distance yourself, this makes it easy because it starts flashing over your head when you are in range. Give it a try, hopefully we will see Archy II.
I just downloaded your add on and got this error just wanted to let you know

Hi anntah, just wanted to let you know that this add on has not been updated, gue to the fact that it will require major rewrite, and I don’t think that is going to happen at this point. Disappointing to all of us. You might want to check out Minimal Archaeology and see if that will do what you’re looking for.
Same here. Without that feature, I might as well just use the default UI.
At this point it seems pretty unlikely now.

yeah sad to see Achy dead :(
I have been using it since day one...
I miss Archy so much... I was going to start doing BFA archeology after Pathfinder released but even now I can't bring myself to do it without Archy.

Are you still working on Archy currently? I got back into doing Archeology and found I missed the addon.
In reply to Captnmoregun:
Try Minimal Archaeology in the meantime, you can find it here on Curse.
The problem with Minimal Archaeology, is that....well, it's MINIMAL.
It's missing some of the most important features that Archy have, e.g. range display.
In reply to Forge_User_23204131:
And the solution to that is use the range display weakauras that are available. There are ways around this stuff.
To tell you the truth, it’s been so long since Archy worked that I don’t even remember what range display you’re talking about.

thank you i'll give that a try
Latest beta of Minimal Archaeology has a distance indicator. I consider it to be a full Archy replacement now
