Hello, beautiful people, ckknight (author of FuBar) here.
After quite a lot of hard work and a new (read: better, faster, stronger) framework called Rock, I have created FuBar 3.0.
Differences from FuBar 2.0:
Configuration is done with the modern Rock Configuration instead of a bunch of confusing multi-level dropdown menus.
Faster, lower memory.
But will my old FuBar plugins work with FuBar 3.0?
Yes, they will work perfectly, without any change whatsoever (just hope that the authors properly included all the necessary Ace2 libraries).
Just ran the WAU Updater, and logged back into game. Nothing is on Fubar nor is able to be interacted with on FuBar and every single FuBar addon I have is now around the mini-map. If something could be done to rectify this, I would greatly appreciate it.
UPDATE 2: Cancel the Red Alert :) Just ran WAU again and about half a dozen Libs updated and when I logged in, all was back to normal. I will delete my bug report on Jir, if that's within my capability. I can only assume cknight was updating those Libs as well and we just fell in the middle of the mix. :)
Make sure you completely delete the old FuBar and reload the game, not just the UI.
I did, several times...here's the error I'm getting:
[2007/09/17 00:03:28-712-x1]: FuBar\FuBar-Locale-enUS.lua:1: Library "LibRockLocale-1.0" not found.
LibRock-1.0-51048 (LibRock-1.0):1578: in function `Rock'
FuBar\FuBar-Locale-enUS.lua:1: in main chunk
I believe it's calling the Rock-Locale module which isn't installed. My installer didn't download it for some reason so I did it manually, no I get an error about LibJostle. I hope this doesn't turn into some annoying cascade...
I can confirm Cartographer is borked for the moment. Ah well, guess that's it for tonight and hopefully it will all be straightened out by morning. I guess us night owls and frequent updaters are just gonna have to ride this one out.
Good luck cknight and site admins, but progress is a good thing :)
So when will all your FuBar modules use Rock, Ckk? And what about LibFuBarPlugin? (IMO this should be integrated directly into FuBar... but then again there's the issue of giving plugins to non-FuBar-users.)
FuBar 3.0 runs very smooth on my WOW-Client (OK - the new configuration menu looks awful and is not as intuitive as the old dropdown-menu but I think this is just my own taste of configuring my fubar).
But thers a nasty small bug:
My Buffs (Blizzard-Style) sometimes move one line up and then one line down. At the same time my unitframes move one line up (when the buffs move one line down) and one line down (when the buffs move one line up). This is very annoying when you get buffs or buff yourself.
Hope you'll fix this problem (or insert an option to disable this if this is intended).
Greetings and continue the good work
p.s. is there an option to delete the Rock-Icon from the minimap? I mean if you rightclick on the FuBar you have the Rock-Menu with all supported addons in front of you so why attatch it to the minimap ;)
Ckknight, I think you made a copy&paste error in either this or in the Parrot thread regarding Jira. The last portion is the same in both. Sorry I couldn't check which was correct as Jira signup bugged when I tried it.
1. I use the blizzard stand mini-map, and when I have auto-adjust frames enabled it's at the top of the screen (underneath my fubar), and if I toggle off auto-adjust frames it actually moves further up off the screen. I can post screen shots if it's helpful.
2. Please give us a way to get rid of the minimap icon, I can't for the life of me find a way to turn it off.
An additional note, this is being caused by mods that still use Lib Jostle 2.0. I found that I had FuBar_LocationFu installed and that it was still using the old Jostle Lib. So I disabled the old Jostle Lib and Fubar_LocationFu and it's working fine. So the bug isn't in Jostle 3.0, but rather that the two aren't playing nicely together.
What's weird is I don't understand why FuBar_LocationFu is messing with Jostle for in the first place. :-)
The rock interface it complete garbage. I want a right click menu that gives me the option to open a GUI... In Windows (and XWindows, FYI) a right click gives you a MENU, not a GUI/Window, why in the hell should fubar be any different? Bring back the dewdrop support, and just add the Rock GUI as an option...
Truthfully, I'm glad to see dewdrop being phased out. It was sometimes clunky to configure. When Niagra/Waterfall came out I was very pleased with it. I'm sure the Rock interface will be tweaked here and there and it will only get better.

I want to make a request or file a bug.

I'll see if I can get an error log but it may be before bugsack is loaded...

Never mind, x-embeds is fixed now...

Excellent way to get your suggestions ignored.
