I use it with externals, and i just did a clean install before posting these errors, and trying to fix them. What do we do now, Siz? ;)

should i try withOUT externals maybe?

getting errors with babble-class after installing/updating addons using babble-class 3

reverting to the version before via. files.wowace.com fixed it for me.
Someone tried to get rid of babble and made a mistake there.

EDIT: the prefix GMSD seems missing, it's GatherMates Share-Data
EDIT2: GC3 isGroup Calendar i think

QHpr as Prefix means QuestHelper

LGP is the Prefix for ckknights libguildposition 1.0

Thx Siz. Could you maybe add an option to save unknown prefixes to a savedvar?
Prefix& Player(s) that send you the prefix would be great.
my current method with screenshoots is a bit ugly ;)
All these unreadable asccii-codes, arent they Ace-Hashes?
Couldnt you query for the addon-name somehow?

And a few prefixes more:

WL_LOOTCOOLDOWN_NPC & WL_LOOTCOOLDOWN_OBJECT , are both from the www.wowhead.com addon wowhead-looter
SWSHSX22 , im not 100% sure but it looks like swstats

EDIT2: (no doubleposting ) Class-Colors sometimes only display properly if you do a /reloadui first .
If you could color addon-prefixes as well as red=unknown prefix, and green= known would be nice as well , like the option to save all unknown prefixes to a savedvar-file.
A list of which are the most popular addon could be nice as well. "RTM is used by A,B C" just a different sorting by addon names , and display not the amount of bytes but the users you encountered using it.

If i read this correctly, this backtrace tool only works if im the one that sends the messages, doesnt it?
Or will it work if i only run this and asfu and want to identify what addons are used in gild and on the server , because they sent me unknown cryptic prefixes?

You could ask them nicely...
I made a chat frame just for AddOn messages and I know who's sending what. I created it with Prat and it seems to have carried over and functions with Chatter, too.

yeah i have an asfu_chatwindow to display these messages but with these acehashes its very difficult to nail down^^ especcially wenn your guildmates have 239 addonfolders and the addon sends unreadable ascii^^
