Tried switching to JWowUpdater and when it reinstalled my addons it didn't pick up the Babble-Trainer-2.2 dependency. After installing Babble-2.2 manually it works fine, but it seems silly to have to install both Babble-2.2 and LibBabble-whatever-3.0 to make one addon work.
Does anyone know of any alternatives to TrainerFu? It's such a mess now and probably won't work well with WotLK anyways.
Working on a Broker_Trainer addon now, no clickable tooltips though so it's basically just a port of Fubar_TrainerFu with the options ripped out of it.

A port of what? I think you mistyped.
It will be nice to have it as an LDB/Broker plugin, although I still fear the library mess and potential for not working with new WotLK trainers. Also, I think it's Ace2-based.
The embedded libraries for the addons do seem to be wrong.

Yup, I haven't touched TrainerFu since... I can't remember. And I will probably never do it again mainly because I'm not using FuBar anymore. What I possibly could have done is to convert it to broker, but I don't have to... Use Broker_Trainer instead.
Anyone feel free to do whatever you wan't with it.
Hmmm... I care. My local version works although I did some change in it. It has some issues that I haven't fix yet though. I was thinking on doing a Broker version of it but I haven't look at libscrooltable or libqtip much yet and was lazily waiting for an Ace3 DewDrop replacement.
I guess I could always try to adopt it and do whatever need to be fixed to keep it going. Nickenyfiken is still listed as author though.
[edit: just saw Nick post. I think we post at the same time or something]

Where do you get Broker_Trainer? I can't find it on WoWAce, Curse or WoWInterface.
[edit: found it. Somehow it was not being shown when doing a search on Trainer on Curse. Also, it appears to be a strip down version that is not supported more then your Fubar version.]
Broker_Trainer (found in a dark corner of Curseforge, made by an unknown author) is also dead/abandoned/unsupported. And its not even close to the functionality of FuBar_TrainerFu; I found it completely useless.
Only shows that you have unknown skills you failed to buy at a trainer when you were last there...heh. Doesn't show you what those skills are, just a number "i.e. (3/12)". It doesn't alert you to skills you have yet to train on levelling up. Nor does it show skills any levels above. For example, on a rogue, it will say "Rogue" in its tooltip if you have future skills to train. Pretty useless.
With proper externals (or disembedded), FuBar_TrainerFu is working just fine here. At least r150 (Nov27/07) is. A translator went nuts with subsequent revisions and most/all of them are bugged out. Have not tried it with Death Knights yet.
But...someone on the Curse comments page for TrainerFu has added Death Knights, Inscription & so on to it and provided the modified mod for download here. Tried it briefly, seems to work without errors so far (with disembedded libs).
In any case, the original TrainerFu really needs to be ported over to LDB if you don't use Fubar any more, Nickenyfiken. Many people have commented on & use it. Heck, another option is just to update the current one and make sure it provides an icon & tooltip properly when used with FuBar2Broker & a LDB display.
I really miss TrainerFu as well. I use Broker_Trainer or somesuch, but it's stripped down a bit too much in my opinion (I like to see what's coming up and not just what I can learn now).
TrainerFu was broken by a translator that decided to make some non-translation changes - mostly mucking with libraries and such - which turned it into a hobbled Frankenstein's monster.
I'd really like to see it rewritten from scratch (to escape the library tangle that it got caught in) as an Ace3+LDB addon.
New Patch and TranerFu and Broker_Trainer not working anymore. Someone out there who can fix on of these two?
Thanks!!
"Not working" meaning what?
FuBar_TrainerFu "r74302.29" (the last one) appears to be working just fine here after the 3.1.1 patch today. No errors, unlearned skills appear properly (besides listing skills the character can't train anymore due to the age of this, such as "Remove Lesser Curse"...heh).
Did you checkmark "Load out of date addons" in the character screen?
It wouldn't surprise me if TrainerFu is broken or was a ton of quirks. It's a horrible, outdated mess and really ought to be rewritten from scratch as a shiny new LDB plugin. Unfortunately I have no clue how to do that, and noone else seems interested.
Yep, no question. Been so long that I forgot what I had installed here...oops.
That "r7..." one I linked last post doesn't recognize Death Knights, Inscription or anything else new. But this one--"FuBar_TrainerFu_WotLK.zip" (from a dark corner of Curse)--does. And besides the occasional issue with skills no longer in the game as previously noted, haven't noticed any problem so far.
But yes, its a big mess & needs updating (much like my apartment).

Haven't had much time to test in the last few weeks but I'm sure I'll have it WoLK ready, something I can't say I could have done for TrainerFu.
I tried TrainerSkills on wowinterface, but didn't really like it. It also caused the beta client to crash and had other bugs.
