a plugin for FuBar (no slashies) for controlling chat aspects...
* enables mousewheel support on all ChatFrames
* timestamps messages in the DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME
* makes chat channels 'sticky' or 'unsticky'
* move ChatFrameEditBox to top of ChatFrame
* hide the ChatFrame buttons (show 'to bottom' when scrolling up)
* rename built-in channel names ([Group] -> [G])
* rename numbered channels ([2. Trade] -> [2.TR])
not all of the features are changeable right now, but it does seem to do what i want it to do =).
Feel free to modify the trunk SCM as you please, as long as it doesn't break.
i noticed that you had started SCM. looks like a good start, but no control over any options. i can definately put effort into getting SCM into a FuBar format.
Hey, wait, you never said anything about options in your original post :P
I want SimpleChatMods to do just what I want it to do, no options required.
The only thing from your original post that SCM doesn't do, is
* makes chat channels 'sticky' or 'unsticky'
Which I don't even know what means, but yeah .. It sounds like you can set one channel to be the default and any other channel must be activated manually.
In any case, a "module" that does this is fine, and other small things like this, but adding options to it is not fine.
I can make it easier to hook into so that you can make an external FuBar plugin for configuring it without much trouble, though .. Would that be OK? What do you want to configure?

now, if the channels are sticky, you only have to press "enter" and you stay in the channel.
otherwise the chat will default back to whatever your default group channel was.. i think..
i've been using stickychat, and prat for so long i got no idea which ones do that anymore :P
what's so bad about prat though?
it takes some setting up, but once its running and configured it works nice.

well....this is why i just started writing my own instead of hacking yours =). what do i want to configure? everything, of course. i want to be able to change the number of lines that scroll in the ChatFrame with the mousewheel (i prefer 2 lines, not one), i want to change the modifier used to drop to the bottom/top of the ChatFrame, i want to change the date format (i prefer %H:%M to %X), i want to make some channels sticky and others not sticky, i want to be able to easily disable modules i don't use (like the playernames one) because i don't want to delete it every time i run winaceupdate.
i don't see why you wouldn't make every part of SCM configurable...
what's so bad about prat though?

prat is huge, way too much for me. i'm a minimalist and prat seems to have gone a different path... it got to the point where i was deleting 3/4 of the modules every update and i got tired of doing that.

cmiiaw but iirc most of the modules are "load on demand" and should theoretically (if disabled) take up almost no memory at all ?
i could be wrong though.
Is there or will there be a slash command to configure SCM ?
Or will you do it the way SimpleCombatLog does ? by clicking Alt+Rightmouse on the Combatlogtab ?
Not sure what relevancy this has but if I enable any other addon with a timestamp feature i don't get these errors and jabberFu works as intended, except I now have 2 timestamps. This happened with enabling CTMod timestamp and SimpleChatMods.

imho ditch both and get prat - it is way more extensive

sticky =
/s hello
/s line2
/g test
/g test2
/y yelling
/y yell2
