...which is why I'm taking 3.0 as an opportunity to ditch FuBar and the rest of my Rock stuff.
B2F is a great idea though that completes the circle and allows users the greatest amount of choice (I heard Titan may even have some kind of LDB support as well).
vhaarr said on IRC he's going to hack Broker2Fubar into Fubar when he has time. ckk gave his permission and I know he had plans to make it framework independent so maybe vhaarr does that, too :P
Titan has had LDB natvie support since very early in their 3.0 updates. I was highly amused by that myself.
I coded the initial module on July 29th and it went live on August 23rd. I'm still tweaking things in it. Why amused btw ? :p It was actually your original idea (and an email by Orion I believe) back when no one would touch the idea of a new plugin lib with a 10 foot stick that got me obsessed into implementing support. In all honesty, it works out for everyone so far ;) I'm very happy to see that Fubar is getting proper support too.
Why? because Titan isn't exactly known for being "cutting edge"... or even adapting to anything. It was done and finished and never to be changed again for a loooooong time. That's why Fu came about really, because Titan was just kinda sitting there stagnating.
But now Fu's kinda in that position. Ckk's "too busy" to do anything with it, aside from rewriting it for Rock... so it's just kinda stuck how it is. Don't like it, too bad. But well, hey, that's why LDB came about really.
And I know, Titan is under new ownership and all that, I've just still got the old Titan engraved in my mind. I don't think it can ever overcome the TITAN_NIL legacy.

Yeah I know the whole deal, in all honesty if I had more time (or even the stomach for it) I would rewrite the entire thing but unfortunately I can't. So I'm pretty much changing one thing at a time, thoroughly testing, then releasing, then taking another step and so on. It worked out pretty well for about a year now and I intend to keep it that way as long as I'm still playing. Looking the way it is now and looking back how it was when I got my hands on it, well its pretty much day and night. Not gonna pretend its the most efficient fish in the water or even "cutting edge" by some people's standards, but hey it works for me. At least, I believe that it will no longer sink one's PC to the 7th pit of hell, performance wise :p
And yeah I realize how you feel, I got rid of TITAN_NIL, it was hilarious (I would say atrocious to be honest). There are still a lot of things I'd like to do, but so little time :s That being said, I'd like to believe that I'm an open-minded person, that listens. LDB is a step in the right direction and I really want to see more people adapting to it. Any user should be entitled to choose whatever works best for them and suits their needs, without being "forced" by anyone. But regardless of what has transpired, Fubar is a wonderful addon with its own legacy. I have the utmost respect for ckk and his work, since he has indirectly motivated me to look back and see how things can be done better (which can be said for other devs as well).

This is a very good thing. The original Titan dev was very much in his own world, fairly oblivious to the calls from users and devs for changes that would have made Titan a better competitor with FuBar, or even would have avoided people feeling the need from Fu in the first place.
LDB is the future, but of course *I* would think that. I don't want LDB to replace Titan and Fu, it should really compliment them instead, and bring everyone onto the same page design wise. There's no reason users should be locked into one display for their plugins, and there's no reason devs should have to maintain slightly different versions for each display. And of course, there's the issue of all those monster embeds you need to support Fu if you don't ReqDep it...
I would jump for joy if that finally happened, Fubar still has a major "marketshare?" of the bar type displays (and in my personal opinion was/is the most polished of them still). I just hate that I have to embed FBP to support it, so I don't.
Broker2FuBar has issues when used to get ClosetGnome to display in Fubar (ClosetGnome lost its fubar plugin in the most recent version). In ClosetGnome you have to right click to get to the gear swap menu. However, since you are using Broker2FuBar all right click does is open the Broker2Fubar Menu. Effectively making it impossible to use ClosetGnome.
You might call this a ClosetGnome issue but I do not think Rabbit (I think he is the author) wants to support FuBar. It might also be a fubar issue. But it seems like it should be possible to change the way Broker2FuBar handles right clicks. That is why I posted it here. Thanks.

It is a FuBar issue. The FuBarPlugin catchs the right click to open the configuration menu, hiding the event from Broker2FuBar (and thus the LDB).
Thanks to Arrowmaster, the latest FuBarPlugin lets the right click pass through.
I also moved the configuration UI into Blizzard one, so one can reach it either through /b2f or the Blizzard addon UI.
Both changes are shipped with the latest beta (r28).
Now what we need is a FuBar-like display. The current displays are *ok* but I don't want a gazillion separate little bars, I just want one (or two) with options like FuBar. I know, I know, just use FuBar + B2F, right? Well, I was hoping for something based on Ace3 instead of Rock. (No offense, CK, just that one library is plenty)

Yes. Many, many little buttons. I just want something that displays like FuBar. full-width bar that allows for left, right and center positioning, etc, but automatically places them on the *same* bar, if ya catch what I'm saying. >.< And BB's drag-n-drop isn't working that well. I have to actually break apart the "bar" to get a "block" between two others.

This sounds like you are talking about SBC or Fortress, not ButtonBin

But anyway enough rambling, off-topic mode..off.

That's why built-in LDB support would finally allow willing devs to drop FBP without fear that users complain about "missing plugin".

Ah. Thanks for the reply. I am guessing this is likely not going to be fixed then. Oh well. Guess I will look into LDB displays.

Have you tried ButtonBin? ;)

Try titan, matches your description.
