Graphpaper and Align accomplish the same thing as far as actually locating the 3 Button Bins. The problem is when you put an addon in the center bar that isn't a fixed length -- think ExperienceFu, GrindStatus, LocationFu, etc. Fubar has a center option that will keep the centered addons in the actual center regardless of their length at any time. Button Bin can't emulate this as you have to left or right align the center bar. If you align it properly for the shortest possiblity it's no longer centered when it's longer and vice versa.
This is what's keeping me on Fubar. I've tried Button Bin a couple of times. As long as you only use left and right and not center or only put fixed length addons in the center Button Bin you can make things look correct. If not then you end up with uncentered addons all the time.

This is exactly my problem, well said. I use GrindStatus and LocationFu in the center (top/bottom) and because these are not fixed-width plugins, proper center-alignment with ButtonBin is impossible.
I use Carousel for the center (who needs to see everything at once?) and button bin for the rest. There's no rule against using more than one display. ;)
All props to Cargor ofc, I use several of his mods, but cargoShip is lua-config only, way over my head. I suspect FuBar refugees are looking for something a bit more customizable and convenient - I certainly am.
Dhedbor, the author of ButtonBin is a classy guy. I've already requested a center-align option per bin and he said he put it on his low-priority list. Perhaps some additional encouragement in that thread would convince him to move it up. IMO, ButtonBin is stellar save for that feature and it is the ONLY thing keeping me from using that addon.

+1!
I love ButtonBin, and a center-align option would make it (nearly) perfect!

That's what I'm REALLY missing from FuBar as well, and is one of the main reasons that still let me hesitate to make the big switch away from FuBar to LDB (whatever display addon one is using; I use StatsBlockCore right now).
I gave it a shot and this is what I came up with. Its not fully functional yet but you can create panels and throw plugins into them. You can move them around fairly easily as well.
Edit:
I'll mention that you can choose to have plugins on the left, right, or centered in the middle. Aso, you can drag and drop between these sections and even between other panels.

Awesome, will give it a go when I get home from work. Been looking for a solid LDB display addon for a while now. Buttonbin and Fortress both have drawbacks which I can't live with im afraid.

In the plugin section "Show label" and "show icon" checkbox is greyed out, but show icon still works when clicking on it - show label does not however. Being able to change colors on values would be pretty sweet too.
Finally when changing the alpha it's everything on the bar which turns transparent, including plugins. It should be possible to change background panel color or even make the color transparent.
I really like docking station however. Definately better for me than fortress or buttonbin.

Done. This is per-bin to keep with the design choice for ButtonBin. However this allows you to make a screen width sized bin, toggle on center alignment and then have all content perfectly centered.
As for the center-justification: You're exactly right. As a workaround, though, I use Align to center it.
I just recently switched to Chocolate Bar and I find that anyone looking for that Fubar replacement with the center-justification should give it a go. It was just added in the last build and it has a very simple, low configuration option that now does exactly what I want in replacing Fubar.
Chocolate Bar has a no lib version:cool:
But LDB is still in the package because its not on wowace...
I will make a official forum thread about chocolate bar once multiple bar support is finished, its almost done but I have very little time at the moment-.-

I like Fortress, you can effectively build your own bar, which I adore.

Regular users don't need no libs. Those that want no libs, know how to do it. ;)
HAY! U NO PICK ON ME! :P
