I had this issue a few times. In every case, the fix was to delete the addon from my Addons folder, then use the CC to find and reinstall it.
Thanks much for that; you were right... there was a RaidCooldowns_Options or similar directory that was no longer used (but was still there from an older version) and the fact that it existed confused the CC apparently. Once I deleted both directories and reinstalled, it's no longer alerting me that there is a newer version available.
Anyone else having problems getting PitBull4 with CurseClient 3.0.0.5? I don't know exactly what's up but I have to manually download and install this addon. CC manages to function as expected for every other addon on my list (dozens and dozens), but always fails to download PitBull4.
The output from the notification progress bar thing is: Retrieving, Downloading, Download Failed for PitBull4. I've tried running the client as administrator (by editting the advanced shortcut settings) and this doesn't help.

I've attached what I hope are relevant log files.
Samr here, keep failing and i had to manually download it.
ROFL! Okay, so now Pitbull4 installs fine. Yay! But now Outfitter and OmniCC (set to install Releases) can't update! Since the clear minority of my addons are alpha-only, maybe you can go back to breaking them instead? :P
Also, something I've noticed lately (due to the recent problems, mostly), is that if a download or update fails, then the addon in question is considered updated, and no longer lives at the top of the list in bold. I need to hit the Refresh button to get it to come back for another attempt. You guys are probably aware of this, just thought I'd mention it.
EDIT: Okay, seems CC is downloading everything perfectly now. Dunno if I'm just insane or if you fixed it. Hrmmm... Yay!

I noticed that as well, and it struck me as really poor design.
Would it be possible for us to optionally hide the System Tray icon on Windows? I'm using the Windows 7 RC, and it makes more UI sense to just minimise CC to the taskbar. I've already turned off "minimise to tray on exit", but being able to abolish the tray icon altogether would be terrifically consistent. Cheers!
I keep getting the "download failed" error as well; it's been happening regularly for at least a week now. Seems that 50% of the time, 1-3 addons that need updating are affected. Really quite frustrating.
So apparently in the case of WowAce addons that have an updated alpha version available but no release version on Curse, CC will show that the update is available and allow the user to tell it to update. However, it will then simply say "download failed" with no explanation. As a tester and developer I find this to be ridiculous. I have explicitly selected Alpha as my release preference, and it shows the addon as existing AND having an update available - it just won't download it!
Yes it's been brought to our attention, however fixing it in the v3 version has proved to be challenging. To my knowledge this behaves correctly in both v4 versions.

Hmm, that would explain why a mod I tried to install (via the install button on the WoWAce project page) the other night, failed. It too was an Alpha release (the project is only in the Alpha stages). Glad it wasn't just me doing something stupid...

I've also tried using the 'Install via the Curse Client' link on the project page and that also fails.

(IE for addons like Skinner, where you have to move files around after an update)
