The auto comping isn't fully functional yet, and we'll have that live within the week or so, in the mean time I'm able to manually do it for some people.
The issue seems to be transient for the majority of the users, however we're still looking to see if we can identify and squash it for good.
Hey I just figured out how to reproduce the error. It only shows up when I have automatic updating turned on. When automatic updates are on it gives me the previously posted error. Switching automatic updates off and upating manually = no error. Here is my log for today:

Do you want the other logs too?
edit:
Well now I just relaunched the client (after turning off auto-update) and somehow auto-update was still on. It auto updated without the error (also doesn't error when i click check for updates). Now I am not sure if the auto updates were causing it.
With the launch of Premium the CurseClient just stopped to work with Wine. The main window shows up. It logs me in. Then it gets stuck. I am wondering if this is related with the ad at bottom right of the windows.
Edit: running on the commandline, I get a whooping fault :
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x56a25c (thread 001c), starting debugger...
Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code (0x0056a25c).
BTW, does the latest client includes some kind of anti-piracy code that could cause issues on "non-native" windows ?
Now that the premium mode is of the CC has become extremely annoying to use.
There is no Update button at all now!
Just Reinstall and Update all (that fires a popup about it being for Premium only), a single "Update" would be kinda useful to not have (perhaps even replacing "Update all" for regular users?).
Just came across a MAJOR bug/issue thou, accidently dragged the sorting list and rezised name to the entire width of the window, now i can't get it to resize bacl, so i can't see anything but name.
This problem persists after reinstall even thou i specificly told the uninstaller to remove all saved settings.

Right-clicking on the individual add-ons and updating from the pop-up there works for me, although it's obviously more time consuming than the "update all" method we had previously.

It looks like the widget tree is corrupted in "normal" mode, and it's trying to access something that's not there. I guess windows is more forgiving than wine.

Best I can tell it has to do with the client trying to load up a browser window to display the ad.

Kaelten: I believe you're on the right track with regards to Wine and the ad window - I'm having no issues with the client under Wine since I'm a premium user again.

Don't care about the Update All nitton not working, but the fact there is NO update bttron at all to replace it, only a painfully annoying "right click menu select update" method...

I've had some serious strangeness with trying to resize columns. Dragging the column divider "works", but when releasing it, the columns resize themselves! It's like they're trying to remain equally spaced out, when I want certain columns to be large and certain columns to be small.

After hitting Yes and relaunching the client I did not get the error again.
Agreed. I thought the only diff between premium and none was auto update and no ads but having to install each update 1 at a time is painful.

There's a ticket open http://www.curseforge.com/projects/curse-client-new/tickets/513-curse-client-no-longer-works-under-wine/

Working now thanks.
Yep they rushed it and got it done this morning, :)
It'll run daily to account for newly eligible authors. :)

For some reason, I misread that as "whooping cough". That's a helluva bug.
