Hrm, the option should only have gotten set if you installed it fresh and left the checkbox enabled.

Also it will keep the profiler installed if you have the checkbox in the game manager set to upload character data.

The options should stick just fine :s

I just let it autoupdate the client and the stuff went on by itself.

But after a bunch of tries it stopped acting up and now its back to normal.

Hi there, just wanted to know if there are any news about the Mac Os version.

Well, CurseProfiler does insist on getting installed, I have unchecked "Upload char info", unchecked the option to install the Profiler through the config menu. And it still pulls that addon, as well as Download Count. Both I would like to NOT have in my Addons folder, or at least have the ability to disable the installation of both.

Anyone else using the client in disembedded node? I am noticing a slight peculiarity in dependency-resolution. It appears to -always- download the dependencies, even if the latest version of said dependency is already installed..

There's already an existing bug report about it (or should be, I put one in a few months ago about it, while the client was still in "you gotta ask kaelten for a link" alpha stage.

is there any way to kill the systray icon? (or perhapps add the option to minimize to tray, not just close to tray)

Since i use "minimize to tray" to clean up program list down there :p (with so many things active it gets crowded if i can't get stuff out of there that is more or less always active anyway) i end up getting 2 icons for CC there (and no, i don't want to use "close to tray" function since i want my stuff to actually close when i hit the x)

I just wanted to throw out a quick thanks to the CC dev folks for seriously improving the function of the CC with Windows' UAC. It now only asks for elevation permission when it needs to update -- this is a great improvement! I appreciate the hard work.

agreed and it has come a long way since the early days

We added some checks to more intelligently determine if it really _needs_ those elevated permissions.

There are some setups on vista that'd prevent you from needing UAC elevation at all.

I've started working on the code as well now. we're making progress. But to quote wx's website:

* wxWidgets tries to support a very expansive feature set, and as a result, some lesser-used components of the toolkit are not as stable/reliable as commonly used components are. As with any open source toolkit, thorough testing is the best solution here.

* The use of native widgets makes it more likely that the same code will behave differently from platform to platform, and also makes it more likely that there will be platform-specific bugs.

In general I've found these statements to be _very_ true. Too true imho.

Nevertheless we're working hard to resolve the issues and we'll be getting you guys on at least a alpha of the mac version asap.

On a sidenote, to the people who are having the issue with the profiler. I hope the new version of the client helps make it a lot more explicit about what's going on and how to make it not do this.
