Can we get the option to search for an install lib's ourself? I am running it as no-lib but some addon's I use don't seem to have their no-lib version set up correctly and so some libs don't download and I am forced to download the zip from the curse site and cut and paste the lib folder out of it to get the addon's to work.
i got a small problem with Bugsack. I did enable alternate / disembed last night. After the huge update cycle Cc says i have Bugsack R166-nolib installed and says the addon is out of date.
When i update bugsack the client says right after the update i have R177 installed (missing the 'no-lib' extension). Once i hit refresh, Cc will claim i have r-166-nolib installed and tell me there is an update availble, but the version string for latest for Bugsack is empty.
I use Windows Vista, and my WoW directory is not in Program Files (it's in the alternative default path "Public\Games\"). However, the Curse Client requires administrative privileges every time I start it.
I can't think of any reason it should require privileges...is there something I'm missing? And if there isn't any requirement, wouldn't it make sense not to have CC require admin? Could this be a setting?

We're looking in at fixing this although currently it has to do with registry access and having the updater run properly.
From what I'm told you can decline it's elevation and it runs otherwise just fine.

Same here, involving theses addons as well: Automaton and FuBar - FactionsFu.
Tankpoints (r100-nolib) and StatLogicLib (r203-nolib) too
I am working with disembed, and it seems that when I unistall an addon, every libs need for this addon are uninstall too, but without take care if it's need for an another addon...
If I uninstall without CC, the next time I will launch it, it will uninstall the libs too...

Thank you for your response. Hopefully the CC will eventually be a 100% user-mode application (aside from installation and update...obviously some admin privileges needed then to write the registry entries).

This is a known bug and has ticket on it. From my understanding, it's fixed in an internal build.
Hi,
there is is a problem with the addon "Raid Tracker" and disembed/alternate.
It uses "libkarma-1.0" but in disembed the folder is named only "libkarma" thus it's complaining about a missing dependency - manually rename back to "libkarma-1.0" solves the problem.

there was some bugs, but they should be worked out now.
Having finally found that this is a worthy updater, is there any way someone can post "eejit proof" instructions on how to dis-embed libs with it ???
I've looked at all the options, and have failed miserably :(
Just don't bother? I'm pretty sure the stance has petty much been "dont, and if you do, it's your mess."
Other than seeing which libraries take on the most load, and clearing buried file redundancies, there's not much of a reason to use no-lib. Aside from saving curse some bandwidth... and maybe yourself an extra minute during back ups xD.
I think 'alternate packages' is not really descriptive, at least from the requests made here - of course you cannot guess how many people guess right - as they won't make a post.
Now you see, this is where the CC falls over on itself.
the good old WAU, with a few clicks here, and a couple of clicks there, could do exactly this, and not mess up ANY addons, maybe there's something to be learned there ....
oh well, back to manually updating everything every few days :/

Can you make a ticket for me please :)
Oh. It explains why I cannot reproduce it. It seems it stopped to update/reinstall externals when they are already up-to-date. So everything is fine.

Any updates about the update-stuck packages ?
"Embed" or "Disembed"
"Normal" or "No-Lib"
