When I point it to javaw.exe it gives me this error: Can not find the main class: Program will exit.
I have made sure the permission are set to full and my classpath = .;C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\lib\ext\QTJava.zip
I am running the new version of Java = jre1.6.0_07 So the classpath seems screwy.
I can execute the .jar files from DOS(like you gave as an example), but when I double click on any .jar file I get that dos screen above and nothing opens.
Thanks a lot for reading and helping me rolfba. :)

Hmm, only solution i can think of is making the batch file then, and using that for running the jar files, instead of java or javew.
runjar.bat:
c:\path to java\java.exe -jar %1
Edit: ups, was supposed to say %1, not JWowUpdater.jar since this was to be a generic java batch file for dbl clicking .jar files.
Well thank you're awesome and your product is awesome. I can run it from a batch file, but my java is messed up and I need to fix that. OMW to the java forums :)
I have manually made an empty txt file in my TourGuide(not a wowace addon, updated from wowinterface) addon directory.
In JWowUpdater I've selected the option "Delete before updating".
I would have guessed that the files was deleted, but it's still there after TourGuide was updated by JWowUpdater.

Delete before update only works for wowace addons, since JWU dosent keep track of what directories are within zip files downloaded from other sites.
jwowupdater breaks my addon by moving the external libraries out of it when someone installs. Actually it's not jwowupdater's fault - the issue is one of the externals is old and so unless "load out of date addons" is ticked it stops it working. It is SpecialEvents-Aura-2.0 that is the problem. See here: http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=11839.msg230099#msg230099
My question is what can I do to my addon (RaidBuffStatus) to either tell jwow to not move the externals or to not move just that one external?

JWU dosent move out externals, people can choose to install your addon either with or without externals. If its installed with externals, it is just downloaded from files.wowace.com, and it will choose the .zip file that has all externals included and just unpack that normally.
If they choose to install without externals, JWU will download the .zip file that resides in the no-ext subdirectory of files.wowace.com, and then try to download all the needed externals as stand alone addons.
Normally there shouldnt be any problem with ticking "load out of data addons", as some addons work just fine even though wow has switched toc version, and there is no reason to update the addon just for a toc change ig its working.
So i really dont see the problem. Either set JWU to use externals, or just tick "load out of date addons".
Is there a way to download without externals, but have the libraries automatically downloaded separately, like the "automatic dependency downloads" from WAU?

Yes, of course :) You have to enable "No externals" and "Automatic embeds handling" in the Config panel.
I solved the java problem. This wasn't a jwu problem, but I wanted to let rofl know what the answer is. Since Vista doesn't allow you to edit file types, like in XP, I had to DL this: http://www.creativelement.com/powertools/ and in the argument, I put in: -jar "%1" %*
Once again, this wasn't a JWU problem and this app fr*cking rocks. :)

It looks to me as if you didnt get the .zip file unpacked correctly, as your missing the lib directory.
Try unpacking the JWowUpdater zip file again and make sure that the lib directory is extracted and is placed next to JWowUpdater.jar, then it should work.
some of the addons i install from wowinterface have the libraries in them (like dominos for example) and i have to manually delete them every time i update. would it be possible to get an option to clean out these duplicate libraries either automatically or via a button?
I am hoping that this is where I report addons not updating correctly. At first it was just Dominos. Now it's also Cartographer 3. JWU sees that an update is available, but when I tell it do update it does nothing.
I take it you have read the announcement about the future of Ace. Have you decided what you will do with JWU after this takes place?
It would make me a bit sad for this project to end. I am not a fan of the curse client. In fact, I pretty much dislike it intensely for a number of reason, not the least being that it tries to run as a tray application. If I wanted another resident program, I'd write my own. It strikes me that once that pipeline is open, it's just another security hole.
I believe JWU will still be able to update addons from WowAce, in the same manner it currently updates addons from WoWInterface and Curse. Rolf is also working on (or at least planning) JWU2, and while he hasn't said much about it, I'm hoping it will include SVN capabilities, which would make updating from the new WowAce even easier than it is currently (as well as support downloading from the new SVN features offered by WoWI and Curse).
Sorry to everyone who have replied within the last 8 days, ive been away on holiday to Cypress so havent been able to check this forum.
Ill try and get up to speed with all the questions.
Regarding the future of JWU, then it will probabely stop working when wowace changes to the new layout, but hopefully JWU2 wont be far behind, with updating capabilities for wowace.
As for the non working updates (Dominos and Cartographer 3), which site was this that was not working?
Regarding addons from non wowace sites, which have libraries included. No JWU wont delete these libraries, but, it shouldnt be necessary to delete them manually either. As most libraries are made to only load if they arnt already loaded, and only load the latest version if more are present. (At least thats my understanding)
