Ive been using your addon awhile and its great. However just in the last week I'm having difficulties. The ACE3 and Libperiodic files are being rejected and the program keep trying to reinstall them over and over with no way to stop it. The program says these 2 files are not zip files. I have changed nothing - not sure what's happened. ANy advice?!
If you could upload your JWowupdater.log somewhere so i can have a look at it. (Right after using the updater and getting the error).
Also just deleting your Ace3 and LibPeriodic folders and just let JWU reinstall them might work.
I am using vista, but I was before and everything updated correctly.
It happened after the latest upgrade to the program.
Not sure what UAC is or if I can change anything to fix it.
Think i found the bug/problem, it should be fixed in the new release:
- Correct some spellings
- Will now list the files deleted during a saver variables cleaning.
- In vista, if an addon had an executable file inside. It would give a probabely isnt .zip error. This has been fixed.
- Fixed bug where non wowace addons would not give the correct error if they are not in .zip format.
I've downloaded the programme and after quite some testing I must say it is a great tool for updating WoW addons. Thank you very much, rolfba.
After I unchecked "No externals" and "Split addons with present filelist.wau" and some other options the updater does exactly what I used to do manually: it deletes old folders completely, downloads and unpacks new addons without putting complicated addons like Cartographer or Pitbull into many folders.
Just the way I wanted all my updaters to do.
No errors have been registered so far. Running on Windows XP Professional 32bit Corporate Edition

Log says like above and nothing gets updated. Those are from Curse.
Seems curse is using a new layout for their download page, for some addons...
Well, it shold be fixed in version 1.96:
- Clarfied the .zip file error, so you can see what file didnt extract. (On vista some files dont extract correctly).
- Fixed updating from CURSE, some addons was using a new layout for their downloadpage.
First of all, thank you for an awesome program. I really like how it cleans up your libraries and dependencies and makes sure you have the ones your addons need.
This isn't a bug report *phew* more of a question. Before jWowUpdater I used the WAU with externals, resulting in each addon having all the libs it needed in eg. Cartographer/lib folder. This worked in theory, but isn't really efficient has started causing trouble when some addons switched to a new version of a library and some didn't.
I like being able to select which addons should loaded when I log in on each my characters, like excluding a huntermod from loading on a shaman and so forth.
With the use of the jWowUpdater, the libs have now been placed in folders alongside the addons and the in-game addon list is now cluttered with libs and I can't see which I can disable for a character and which I can't.
So my question is:
- Is there a way to hide the libraries in the in-game addon list?
- Or better yet, can you somehow move all the libraries to a shared "lib" folder
As it is now, it's pretty hard for me to get a clear overview of my addons in- and out of game.
