I just decided to try out Wrath of the Lich King a minute ago, and haven't logged in to WoW for over a year. All of my addons were obviously outdated so I tried running the wowaceupdater (1.9), it crashed, and I can't seem to find a newer version. Has it been discontinued?
Personally I don't see the need for an automatic updater at all.
Unless there is something specifically broken in your UI preventing you from playing you can afford not to update your addons for a while.
There's also a number of ways you can use to manually update your addons. No it doesn't take as long as people think. Takes me 15 - 20 minutes every 2 weeks , usaully on a maintenance night or if I'm bored on wow.
My commendations for not finding manual updating to be a horribly tedious and time-wasting procedure.
I like to use an updater to keep up with the latest alphas because I like to test them and provide feedback to authors who wish to hear about issues.
It's also a hell of a lot less work than downloading and unpacking a zip file and then moving it into the correct place, which gets REALLY tedious if you have to do it often or if you have to update too many addons at once.
There is absolutely no value in continuing this discussion. The original poster asked a question, and the question was answered. Everything else has been discussed into the ground a dozen times over, and there is nothing new to add to the discussion. Thread locked.
