I run Leopard and am trying to use WUU
Today I installed version 1.7.567 and ran it. My WoW install was detected and I chose 'Yes.' WUU closed without notice.
I deleted WUU, the folder out of Application Support and the folder out of Preferences, and then installed version 1.6.446.
I then ran WUU. I found my WoW folder when prompted and again WUU simply closed without without notice.

Could you see if there's a WUU.log made (how to find it) - if the crash is not one of those "OSX 10.4-10.5-PPC-Intel" strangenesses, the details will be recorded there (and it can probably be fixed).
I reinstalled WUU so I could have a log file.
Part of the problem does seem to be that my attempts to uninstall WUU when I was running Tiger were not successful. I tried to delete anything that mentioned WUU and completely redid my WoW Addons after WUU and Tiger caused WUU to freeze and my addons were in such disarray I just started over.
My log file can be found at http://l.g.connor.googlepages.com/WUU.log

At the end of that I found:

...which is something I've never seen before. I have to make WUU handle that exception, but I think you'll fix your problem for now by just deleting /Applications/World of Warcraft/addons.wurm.xml manually :)
That fixed it.
One guess as to the problem may be that my SO and I don't have separate installations of WoW yet we each play from our own desktop.
HTH
Thank you,
Lisa

Ah, right - you might have to manually set the permissions on addons.wurm.xml so that both users can write to it, as it is now, only your user can use WUU on that installation.
I don't have my mac in front of me right now (picking it up from service tomorrow), but I think it's something like:
chmod g+w /Applications/World of Warcraft/addons.wurm.xml
Or, you could just do what I, and my wife do.. I simply copy the Wow folder over to the other system, takes about 45mins on my wifi (54Mbps) network..
Had to do that a couple nights ago, when her laptop's HD died and we bought her a new HD.. instead of installing wow and doing all the updates etc, I just copied my installation over to hers. done and done.

I took it to mean "same installation of WoW, same Mac, different logins", but yeah - it's great that the WoW folder is so "mobile", I've saved so many huge reinstalls and waiting for patches by that.
Heh, funny you should say that.. With mac's, I've only found a few applications that you -couldn't- just move around/copy around like that, and not work.
* Miscellaneous changes to the dependency checking, should be more precise now
* Dropdown for language selection in the Preferences dialog
* Show dependency missing dialog after version checks
* Added handling of read-only settings file when saving
I haven't done much to this release, really. I need to clean up some code, maybe disable/remove a few features, and then we'll call it 1.8 stable. I don't have as much time working on this as I used to have anymore, and the stuff that's left to do is of the type "lots of work, not much return" - There's a lot of code that should (and will, I hope) be rewritten, modularized, and made less dependent on other code.
I can't seem to delete addons with the latest version. I can only delete them externally and then purge the missing addon with WUU. No error messages, btw.
I'm using Wuu 1.7.580 win32.
As Pusikas, i can't delete addons through WUU.
Also WUU won't close, i'm forced to use taskmanager to close it. WUU display "saving UI Settings, please wait..." in status bar and then nothing. Doesn't seem to come from antivirus (Avast) or firewal ll (Comodo).I've no more infos from logs :(

I've seen that happen before :( Have you tried nuking the settings and starting from scratch (sorry, I don't know what causes it)?

I've been away for a while now - both of my computers are out of commision at the moment; my desktop has a blown PSU (new one is ordered, and on its way), and my Macbook Pro is getting bad sectors on the hard drive (all diagnostics say the drive is "just fine", so I'm having a hard time convincing Apple Support that it has to be replaced)
As for WUU not closing, it happens when i choose "fr" as langage code in the prefs and on the next use of WUU.
From there, i also can't open prefs.
Hope it helps.

I've got the latest beta (1.7.580) and checked for the latest templates and regexp, yet it doesn't seem to be able to check versions or update any addons except those on the WoWAce site. Tried turning on Debugging mode and still no errors or messages show up in the Event Log.
Anyone else having this problem or have a fix? I'd understand if one or two sites stopped working, but it appears that everything (Curse, WowI, Auctioneer, etc) is broke which seems a bit odd.

Just for those with the same problem as me, to make it detect 7z.exe you must add the 7-zip directory to the PATH variable

You have the wrong site ID for Bongos there - the correct one is "2003", based on the URL http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/2003/
I've seen that happen before :( Have you tried nuking the settings and starting from scratch (sorry, I don't know what causes it)?
