why not work together with the dude from wowaceupdater for mac? he had -the best- mac addon updater for ace addons available. with a true mac feeling! always worked, never crashed, never ever any problems. it didn't have an option for unembedded/embedded addons etc though, it was something i wished for though.
anyway, this is the url, you can find the app and the author's contacts link through it:

Ahh, but this was the beauty of the old system. While you thought the updater above was the best one for your mac, I myself preferred a python script to do the job (http://code.google.com/p/wowacepy/). Everyone had their own "favorite" and we all still got our addons/updates.
Heck, I even switched a lot of my addons to "Ace" equivalents simply to not have to manually update/maintain them. With the release of 3.0, I'm going to start from ground zero again, going minimal, and re-evaluate how many mods I will use that are "Ace" (aka determine how much I simply can't live without them if there isn't an alternative).

You can still use the command line and a script to do the same, it just requires a small amount of setup. (and you will need a command line svn, git, and mercurial client to script against)
Note: Not all addons hosted on curse use the wowace/curseforge repositories, even if they have them setup. What that means is when you visit say a cf projects page and get the public repository url, browse it first before trying to update from it. (shouldn't be the case for former wowace addons at this time though iirc)
For those that want to use the Mac WoWAceUpdater, I just went to the preferences and changed the URL to grab from to files.wowace.com/latest.xml and it repopulated my list with the updates for all the Ace addons I have.
Edit: Wow.. I joined two and a half years ago and just now posted for the first time. Talk about lurking.

I would be happy to if I could afford to buy one for everyone. Because if I bought you one.... well you know the story.
I wouldn't tell a soul except my wife. And she doesn't post here.
Of course, she'd give me strange looks for a while, wondering why a supposed complete stranger wanted to buy me something..

So if I go out and spend a bunch of money on a new computer, AND subscribe to curse I can use something I already had access to from multiple clients?
How down right depressing.
