I clicked "ignore flexbar2". It blanked the list, redrew the list from the beginning, cleared the addons that I had already checked, but FlexBar2 was still present, still shown, still there if I chose "mark installed," etc. No change at all.
A suggestion on the confirmation box. Right now it asks the user if they're sure they want to update the marked addons. If the user answers yes, it changes the view to show *only* the list marked addons, as it updates them.
You might show that list before popping up the confirmation screen, so the user can see everything he's marked all at once before confirming.

I'm using 1.9.45.718.
If you actually tried it, though, you would see that when the updater gets to that mod, it will say something like "IGNORED... Skipping".

Not to be rude, but that's rather poor design. Up until the user presses the Big Red Go Button, there's no visual feedback on whether or not the addon will actually be ignored or overwritten. If the user has made a mistake or forgotten to change the setting, they have no way of knowing until they click go, and then it's too late.

Yes, I suppose throwing out all the work that's already gone into WAU is one possible solution. A less drastic approach might be to accept some constructive criticism, and incorporate that feedback into making the existing WAU a better program.

It is no longer maintained. I stopped supporting it from a development standpoint in November (That is posted in this thread). Kaelten has the source, and probably only intends to support if any major issues come up - the unpublished changes to the source are not liscensed for use by anyone for any purpose other than for maintaining WAU itself.
Ignore is working perfectly fine. Addons that WILL be ignored (Protected from updates) have their own category on the addons list. Scroll down to the bottom.

I don't see this at all, using the same version as you are.
If I right-click on the ignored addon, it still says it's ignored -- at least, it has a "stop ignoring this addon" entry on the menu. But there's no separate category at the bottom for it. Is there an option to enable that list?

If you're referring to the post that stickied at the top of each page, then it's not clear that WAU is no longer maintained. The only restriction listed is "the only supported version is the one linked to from the main page", but nothing about the project being in maintenance mode.
If it's somewhere else in the thread, then I apologize for not reading all 16 pages of posts from last September. :-)

Yeah, Ignored is below Outdated. Do you have "Show Groups" checked in the view menu?
Oh, I sorta kept this to myself, but you can add files.wowace.com to the IE restricted sites (to disable javascript) if the ads are giving you trouble.
I am still having a problem where my whole screen just comes up blank with nothing on it. I opened port 80, re installed the program, turned my firewall off at one point, hit F5(reloading index), and moved my wow folder to my desktop(i did change path in the WAU).
After quite a few searches on this forum, i found out that i have the same problem as jelliottii ( Here ) :
When i try to fill in the WOW install directory, it never saves my changes and always comes back to C:/Users/xxxx/Documents ...
I'm also under vista, but i did not install WoW in C:/Program Files ... In fact, i just copied the directory from my old computer to my new one in E:\Jeux directory (yeah yeah yeah i'm french :D)
Is there a reg key that must be set for WAU to work ?
I have all the rights on this new WOW directory..
Hi, i ve a strange problem. I have Wowaceupdater version 1.9.45.718 and it always worked. Strangely enough the TOC version at the bottom of the window shows 20300 although the latest one is 20400. I asked a friend who has also the 1.9.45.718 and .. he has no toc information in his window.
Normally i wouldn't care about it but my problem is that Wowaceupdater says that every 2.4 addon is outdated. Probably because the TOC is too high? Is there anything i can do to correct this minor problem?
BTW i'm using Vista.
Thanks in advance

This had no effect.

Category is already there. Date wont be added. Don't forget WAU has no maintainer atm other than Kaelten since I stopped development last year.

Write your own updater whose design is less poor.

I do. Unchecking gives me an extra column but nothing above/below anything else.
please help me out.
Thanks,
Joey
