For some reason, WAU crashes every time I open it today after 10 seconds or so. It only happened this evening. It worked fine this morning. I am running vista and I believe I have the latest WAU, but did not update today.
EDIT: the only thing I can think of that could have caused this is that I saw the warning about flash player and upgraded off adobe's website. Could this have caused the issue?
Im running WinXP SP3 (with which the WAU have been working fine) and today WAU also keeps crashing when i manage addons. As long as i just start it and do nothing it seems to run without problems.
My WAU began crashing yesterday as well. The ad section shows up blank except for a "Click here for more Infos!" link half offscreen in the lower right corner. Resizing the window did not bring any of the ad visible so I could see which is causing the issue. If any of the devs need more information, please let me know how I can help.
I'm trying to update from .738 to .745, but am having some problems. WAU will not update automatically and if I go to the publish page, I get the following error:

I'm getting crashes while updating addons today with version 1.9.4.746. It usually crashes while updating addons, but several times it has crashed without doing anything but opening the program. Seems like the 10 second crash bug is back. I tried uninstalling, then reinstalling WAU, trying both the zip and through IE.
WAU 1.9.46.746 started crashing today 07/17 on me where previously it would work fine. Just started up my system, checked for updates, and crashes non-stop. Un-installed and re-installed through IE, and still does it. I can just start it up, just let it sit there, and it'll crash on me. Running WinXP 64 SP2 w/ latest versions of .Net
Please try to uninstall and reinstall. There was a bad version that won't update automatically and causes a crash. If you continue to have the issue please repost.
Trying to extract the downloaded zip using the default windows extractor yields an error that the compressed folder is invalid or corrupted.
When I use 7-zip I can get at the file, but it doesn't have an extension and putting a ".exe" and running it opens a command prompt that immediately closes. This is with the previous version gone.
same here, after one update, wau crashed and i can't use it more.
i uninstall, reinstall, always crash after 5 second
i use windows vista.
i tried to download manually and dont use ie to install it, but curiously, .zip failed to extract.
it works with ie automatic but when i launch wau, crash again :(:(:(
EDIT: the only thing I can think of that could have caused this is that I saw the warning about flash player and upgraded off adobe's website. Could this have caused the issue?
WinXP SP3
I too ran the Adobe Flash Player update yesterday. My WAU worked fine before that......

When I use 7-zip I can get at the file, but it doesn't have an extension and putting a ".exe" and running it opens a command prompt that immediately closes. This is with the previous version gone.
I also retried the IE install, to no avail.
I uninstalled it completely from Add/Remove Programs, reinstalled from http://www.wowace.com/wau/publish.htm
It still crashes after 10secs, Though I can just leave the Error box alone & continue to use WAU as normal. :|

My debugger isn't loading for some reason, but here's the exception that it is catching:
An unhandled exception ('System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException') occurred in WowAceUpdater.exe [1756].
