5) My Winsock key is corrupt? WTF I dont even wear shoes...
Go to a command prompt and type
Quote
netsh winsock reset
Then REBOOT immediately
6) I see an error message that looks like this
Error During Download: System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: The attempted operation is not supported for the type of object referenced
at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.get_ConnectEx()
at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.BeginConnectEx(EndPoint remoteEP, Boolean flowContext, AsyncCallback callback, Object state) at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.UnsafeBeginConnect(EndPoint remoteEP, AsyncCallback callback, Object state)
at System.Net.ServicePoint.ConnectSocketInternal(Boolean connectFailure, Socket s4, Socket s6, Socket& socket, IPAddress& address, ConnectSocketState state, IAsyncResult asyncResult, Int32 timeout, Exception& exception)
Your Winsock key is corrupt! One of your network firewall/proxies whatever screwed it up. See above for fixes.
Alright, so I'm having problems with WAU. Whenever I run it, and use the option to Reload Index, I get this error:

Well, according to the "Common Problems" thread, I have a corrupt Winsock key. So, I followed the instructions to fix it, and after rebooting, I still get this error. Any help?
Since I've had SP3 for Winxp32 installed, can't run wau. Had been running .46
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling .net 2.0 and tried reinstalling.
Can't even reinstall (or even uninstall from the control panel).
I get the errors below when running any version of the installer.

That should be it.
Error is the same one as in the OP
After you installed SP2, did you reset your Winsock Key thing?
