I have been busy since the release of 2.4 replacing every addon I can with Ace equivelants and I'm 90% there.
However, I also have added quite a few as well. So I'm now at the point where I need to start using an updater to keep everything happy. I think I'd prefer to use the WowAceUpdater based on what I've read, but am I understanding correctly that is has been abandoned?
If so, will any of the others keep the Ace libraries up to date as well as addons? I want to start eliminating embedded libraries to make things more memory efficient.
Yes WAU_development is abandoned, BUT except a few special cases it still works very well.
My favorite replacement , i think will be netherpanel. Its still under development and for some people it wont work yet (addons not being detected properly) but it looks very promising.
I can't make WAU work at all. Haven't been able to for months, though I've looked through everything I could find...
It's unfortunate, because I liked it's setup better than most of the updaters I've looked at. Most others don't seem to work very well if you ever use the actual sites to install something while browsing, or if you change anything outside the program (such as attempting to delete a mod or otherwise force it to update if something's gone wrong).
If you can make WAU work, it's a good one to use though.
