it's looking in documents for some reason, i go into preferences, browse, pick my WoW folder, nothing. go back into preferences, its still looking in documents. any ideas on how to fix this?
well...when i start the updater up, its a completely blank white screen so i dont even think its communicating with wowace. i tried the backslash and it looked fine but the screen still stayed white. so even if i move my addons to the documents file, it still isnt searching the website for available addons so i think it is f'ed completely
deleted updater, reinstalled it, installed curse client, i got wowaceupdater to look for the addons file but the screen still stays blank, it doesn communicate with WoW or wowace. just a white screen. curse updater ALSO doesnt like the wow folder on that pc and just goes to a local folder saying it hasnt copied anything to wow. works fine on my pc, is retarded on the other, any ideas? not sure if its important but the other pc has japanese vista. help help help pls. this is very frustrating.
i didnt even occur to me that might be a problem. i figured a microsoft product is a microsoft product no matter the language settings, but when both updaters failed yet they function without issue on my pc, some alarms started to go off. one thing that might fix it if i could figure out how, is when i mouse over or click on the "mirrors" tab, i get nothing. there is no option in preferences to select a mirror. is there a way to do this manually?

Depends on whether or not the program supports localization. Not all language settings (and code) are equal, especially if a program is looking for a specific character string.

I dont think that non-ansi characters in you user account name are supported...do you use them?
Why not tell us these things to begin with.
Nevertheless - no clue as to the problem. But if the curse client failed too...
