That should help us find the bug (if there's only one :P) with no problems :)
I'm still waiting for my MacBook to get back - it's been sitting on some desk at the service center for nearly two weeks, waiting for Apple to send the part it needs :( Since most of my coding is done on the train to/from work, I haven't had any progress lately :P
EDIT: Found the bug, I've coded a workaround for now, but I'll probably get down to coding something better while the SourceForge SVN is down (:() - I'll release a new beta as soon as it's back up :)
I love the updater except for one major problem that actually makes it nearly unusable for me: when you manually delete addons from the directory, it redownloads them if you run the updater. Even if I completely rescan with WUU (every option under "addon"), it still has addons I removed days ago. I half-hacked together a solution with keeping a window open in my addon directory and just deleting the new directories, but its a huge hassle.
I'm half tempted to convert my addons to Ace2 only so I can just use their SVN updater.
You have to delete the addon from within WUU ([Del] in the addon list, or ctrl-D) for WUU to "forget" the addon :)
That's rather backwards IMO for an updater to assume from a missing directory that it should redownload the addon... personally I'd be all for a prompt saying "These addons are missing, do you want to remove them from WUU?"
update: ok got it, had to check the "preserve newline as-is" option, wonder what's the point for this ?
Not sure as to the specific reason, but it seems some combinations of Python/Windows version/ZIP file format/phase of the moon creates extra newlines :(
Are you using Vista?
The reason "preserver newline as-is" isn't the default, is that that results in (for those who don't get the extra blank lines) the file being unreadable in Notepad (and that, for those who don't want/need to read the .luas, the number of newlines doesn't matter :))
Today" target="" data-ensure-absolute>http://www.curse.com/"]Today marks the release of our brand new, totally re-designed website as well as the domain change to www.Curse.com
I've effectively broken the main SVN version of WUU for the moment, so I have to track the bug to rollback before I can start releasing a new version - and that Real Life (tm) game is taking all my free time at the moment - but I promise you I'll get it done as quick as possible ;)
* New settings file format; your existing settings.wurm.xml will be backed up automagically
* Better handling of [Related] addons
* Site fix: Support for new Curse.com version of Curse-Gaming

I'll create a .dmg of it when I get to my Mac tomorrow.
The program 'python' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection)'.
(Details: serial 36938 error_code 14 request_code 1 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
Just saw your update, threw the new files into the folder, replacing the old ones, and shazam. That's what we have.
Looked at the error code, ran it with --sync (doh!) and:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "WUU.py", line 3224, in <module>
if len(opts) == 0:
TypeError: object of type 'NoneType' has no len()
I'll fire up my Linux computer tomorrow (or, even better, I'll try to install a linux image in parallels on my Mac, so I have a "controlled test environment" ;))
I'll admit that I haven't been testing WUU much on Linux, but my goal is that 1.6 will be stable and working on all 3 platforms :)

Oh, it was *fine* before you patched it to fix the other bug.. lol.
And I've noticed that if I don't touch it *at all*, don't touch the screen, mouse, anything, until the program is _fully_ loaded, I don't get those nasty screen errors. Hmm.

ZOMG! I do the samething! I thought I was just being superstitious, lol. Yes, it seems if I don't touch anything, just back away from my desk and not breathe, it will load. Otherwise, I get errors and it just won't open, lol.
Works great here once I figured it out :P Only problem I am having is it doesn't show any Local Version numbers. Any ideas on this? Using Ubuntu with all requirements met.

You have to update your addons once from within WUU for it to know what local versions there are (it doesn't try to scan addons updated by other updaters/manually to determine local version).

Hi, long time WAU user, thought I'd make the switch over here since I do have a few addOns that are not Ace.
Everything seems to work peachy (thanks for all your excellent documentation!) except the single file I have whose source is CurseGaming. The updater can see the online version number fine but I can't get it to update my local copy for the life of me. The addOn in question is FuBar_AlarmClockFu. I've tried using Site ID 7098 and 7098/FuBar_AlarmClockFu. Both can see the online version number. Neither one will update.
Event log shows the following:
For Site ID 7098: (WARN) No download URL found.
For Site ID 7098/FuBar_AlarmClockFu: Client just hangs, no warning given.
Ya, the WUU page says curse works again with 1.5.371 but it doesn't seem to be working for me either. Trying to update CEnemyCastBar says no download URL the first time you try to update it, then causes WUU to pretty much hang if you try it a second time.
I don't know why it hangs if you try it twice, that'd be a leo job, but to fix the downloads edit site_re.txt and change
Also, what's the new red/pink highlighting on some of my 'related' mods?
I notice you have a known bug on the wiki about sorting by Upg. I'd give you my first born child if you made it put the Y's at the top on the first click. I may or may not have kicked my cat a few times because I have to click it twice :P
Excellent work. Thanks very much for keeping this app updated.

I have one issue, I cant make work this "split up Load-on-Demand addons" thing with Prat.
normal zip package downloaded manually:
line1- xxxx
line2- yyyy
wuu downloaded :
line1- xxxx
line2- (blank)
line3- yyyy
etc...

quick and easy with Ubuntu =)

most likely because curse have changed their domain name, pages and a crapload of other stuff.
and i should read the other replies first :)
I won't be able to access my "build" computer until tomorrow morning, but I'll get a new version out "ASAP" ;)
