Occasionally I will run the WAU and an error message will pop up stating that Data Error Protection (or something like that) DEP has halted the program. What I have noticed is that it usually occurs when I have WinAmp open.
I have the newest version of WAU, so I just wanted to post this to let someone know of this problem. (If it really is a problem or just my machine acting up.)

If you get a DEP error please post as much info as you can.
It seems to have nothing to do with WinAMP, but what I have noticed is it will load some ads, but when I start it up and it loads certain ads, or when I finish updating and the ad rotates to one of the certain ads, it crashes giving the DEP error.
This is all the Windows Error Viewer had to say about it...

That is part of the problem... the ad never gets to load.... everything shows up, the list of downloaded, the list of downloads, but when it goes to load the ad, it crashes.
Also, I am now sure it is one of the ads, since sometimes it works, I update all my files, and when it switches the ad and before the ad can load... it crashes.
When I tried to load the ads with a browser, I just got the 404 - file not found error, I could fraps WAU going through to the error if you need me to.
No, just load the ad in your browser, and see if you can figure out which one it is. We know that one of them makes WAU crash for some reason - where are you located?
I managed to get passed the 404 error and load the ads in Firefox.
Unfortunately, there is no way (that I can think of) to tell exactly which ad is loading that causes WAU to crash. Firefox seems to load every ad without error, however, WAU still has issues. When WAU begins to load the image, it crashes, well before I can detect what the image actually is to identify it for you.
The only thing I can think of is to consistently load WAU, find out which ads work, and then make a list of the ads that cause the crash.
Just used IE to load the ads from http://files.wowace.com/ads.html. All of them seem to load with out error there as well.... I just have no clue what is causing this.
In all honestly I can try and try to load inside WAU and none of the ads load anymore on Vista. For a while some loaded but lately none of them do (though admittedly the random isn't that great so might just be bad luck).

Sounds like same problem. Is it happening right at the start?

EDIT
On a side note, I have installed and uninstalled WAU several times using IE, so I am fairly sure that reinstalling will not fix the problem.
Just load http://files.wowace.com/ad.html until the offending add pops up, and screenshot it.
Do you get any kind of prompt from windows? Like something you have to confirm?
When I run WAU I get these prompts when it crashes. [Attatchments included]
Also, I am now sure it is one of the ads, since sometimes it works, I update all my files, and when it switches the ad and before the ad can load... it crashes.

This is an issue for Kaelten.
