The biggest problem I have when updated my addons is that downloads of addons sometimes hangs, probably because the server won't respond. The only problem to solve this is to restart WAU and start the updated again. I think it would be nice with either a stop button or restart button or maybe a timeout value on downloads and when a download time out it is restarted.
Anyway, feels weird that the only option to abort or restart the update process is to restart the program (even if it goes very fast).
I'm working fine - except that that last update seems to be a step backwards. Suddenly the window and the seperator bar no longer remember where they were. And why did you remove the links to the updates and stuff from the status window? Now there's extra clicks and pull downs just to review the change log (granted, the change log is pracically blank).
Anyway past the cosmetic stuff, it's working fine for me on Vista.
126.96.36.1992, I'm getting frequent crashes as well when I try to do an update. Seems to happen after it's been running a while (i.e., rarely if ever on the first update and more frequently after I've left it running overnight). It's a Windows crash error rather than a C# exception, so there isn't really any info that I can capture - I'll try to look more closely though next time it happens.
i've been getting fairly random crashes. so i grabbed the source and ran it in debug. now its not crashing at all...
perhaps some compiler options are causing a fault?
i'm running vista32 wondering if my error is the same as the other vista users.
i've only seen it happen since the backup xmls were generated.
as i mentioned above, changing to diffent mirror (files-wowace.renchap.com) helps with all the crashes and empty indexes.
or if you want to stay with files.wowace.com and the index is empty, just hit F5.
this will bypass the cache an tries to reload the index from the server, but this can result in a crash again :p
the only disadvantage of renchap.com is that the summary change log is not working.
