So I had the brilliant idea of releasing a beta of the next version of the addon I maintain. So I uploaded the 2.4 version as a beta, it worked, so I looked for a way to turn that 2.4 beta into a release. Well, you can't, ok. And it wouldn't let me upload the file again as a Release, so using the file management utilities I deleted the beta version. However, it still won't let me upload the 2.4 release, even though the file doesn't appear in the file list any longer.
Any options, or should I bite the bullet and skip 2.4 entirely?
Basically, click the files tab, on the project page then the top file, expand "file management" on the right, pick "edit file" and set the appropriate "file type" at the dropdown.
Finally hit "Update". It might take a while for the change to propagate to the user frontend (eg. www.curse.com) but it will eventually.
If you've already deleted the file, I don't think you can un-delete it without moderator intervention, and really, you should never upload the same file under multiple version numbers or descriptions. Just upload it as 2.4.1 or something. In the future, tag beta versions with something like "2.4-beta" to avoid these kind of issues, as well as to avoid confusing your users.
