I am looking all over the FAQ and forums and cant figure out a way to upload my add-on files as updates. I deleted my original version and uploaded the update. I know this is not the best way to go about things. Any advice?
2. Just upload the new file without deleting the old one. There is only one Upload File function. It doesn't behave any differently depending on if the project already has a file attached or not.
After you upload a file, regardless of whether it is the only file on the project or the 10000000th file on the project, it goes to the one and only file moderation queue for the entire site.
After a file moderator reviews your file to make sure it meets the site's standards (eg. no malware, correct ZIP structure, etc.) it will be approved.
After the file is approved, it will be available for download immediately on your project page, and will be available for download on Curse.com as soon as the next sync run completes.
File approval can take anywhere from 15 minutes to several days, but usually takes 1-4 hours in my experience. IMO Curse needs more file moderators and/or a better automated pre-moderation scanner (to catch obvious stuff like wrong ZIP structures), because their approval process is horribly slow. WoWI is a much smaller site, but files are approved much faster over there.
Syncing to Curse.com happens a little faster, usually within an hour of the file being approved.
