Last night I decided to try and give GearScore another chance after installing it the first time got my account hacked. Well this time it has made it to where I can no longer login to my WOW account on my main PC. I can sign on with my laptop fine, but I don't like to play on my laptop. To make matters worse, I( did a FULL uninstall and reinstall of the WOW client a couple hours ago, and still same reaction, even after deleting ALL the files in the WOW folder. So my question is what is imbedded in GearScore now that has screwed up my main PC? By the way, GearScore is not, and will never be, on my laptop, and like I said it works FINE!
Basic Info:
OS: WinXP Pro
Clean WOW install
Error message at login: The information you have entered is not valid. Please check the spelling of the account name and password...
Prior to the login screen for about .1 sec I can see a script run, then the login screen comes up, and I never saw that BEFORE installing GearScore last night.

that Script Terminal that you see flash is part of the game loading, just previously it wasn't shown before login.
The obvious answer is that your typing in your credentials wrong as addons cannot affect the login screen.
I did uninstall gearscore...it was uninstalled with my FULL uninstall of WoW. I downloaded and installed with CurseClient. And I'm assuming the latest version was installed.
Okay, so let's assume I'm not putting the password in wrong (because I'm not an idiot, and I've done Tech support too)...what else could it be, other than an imbedded piece of GearScore? ANd since I know it can't be anything else...what do I do to fix this?

So once again I state, the ONLY thing that changed on my system last night was the installation of GearScore! If it's not GS, then what could it be. And yes, I did the copy-paste and got the EXACT same result. GS was NOT placed on my laptop, and it CAN and DOES log into the game...explain that all you little freaking "It can't be GS" fan-boys!
Did any of you even read the part where I tracked down my original hacker to GS? Or that, lord forbid, a virus (trojan-keylogger, specifically) CAN be imbedded in the installation? Or do you guys defend GS because you're part of the reason there are massive amounts of accounts getting hacked, and want to see people download and install these viruses so you can steal and sell accounts?
If you're not, then please help, otherwise, don't bother and go screw with someone else who would rather hear that crap.
1. Addons cannot affect the loading screen or the login process. Addon files are not read by WoW until after you have logged in. Nobody is being a "fan-boy" here; this is simply how the WoW game client works.
2. Addons do not contain any executable code which can install a virus or malware on your computer. If you download an addon and it contains an executable file, do not run the file, and do not trust the site you downloaded it from. If you downloaded the addon through the Curse Client, and did not run any executable file(s), then there is simply no technical way for the addon to have been the vector for any virus, keylogger, or other malware that might affect your ability to log into the game. Again, this is not "fan-boy-ism;" this is simply a fact.
3. Generally, when community members, who are in no way affiliated with the website which hosts the addon you're having a problem with or even the forum you're posting on, volunteer their free time to try to help you fix a problem, it does not encourage them to continue trying to help you when you accuse them of lying to you and collaborating with account thieves.
4. If you cannot accept the plain fact that addons cannot affect the loading screen, and consider that, while the problem may have arisen after you installed a particular addon, that action may not actually be the cause of the problem, then there is no point in anyone here spending any more of their time trying to help you.
5. If you refuse to believe any of us that addons cannot affect the loading screen, contact Blizzard. If they bother to respond to your hysterics at all, they will tell you the same thing we have been telling you all along - addons cannot affect the loading screen.

Then something else is wrong that that's not related to the addon?

No Gearscore is an addon that the game loads after your login.

Eh, installing an addon, unless done incorrectly dosn't provide the opportunity of this to happen. Unless your using CC, even then..
Or do you guys defend GS because you're part of the reason there are massive amounts of accounts getting hacked, and want to see people download and install these viruses so you can steal and sell accounts?
If you're not, then please help, otherwise, don't bother and go screw with someone else who would rather hear that crap.
People get their accounts hacked due to pron surfing and unsafe internet habits. Also your points about others getting hacked are irrelevant to the current inquiry.
Please Remember you came to us for help. Also GS's Author dosn't monitor these forums (not that the issue is related to use/install of GS)

I'm only going to reply once more...
Firstly, I have never used GearScore nor will I ever.
Secondly, have you tried installing GearScore on the laptop to "reproduce" the problem. I bet you can't reproduce it.
Also, though you claim that installing GearScore previously got your account "hacked," do you have any actual evidence to back up that claim? Or are you simply assuming another causal relationship? (eg. "the last thing I remember doing before Y happened was X, so X must have caused Y" which is almost certainly false.) It's more likely that your account information was actually stolen some time beforehand.
Do you have any security software installed on your computer? Do you run regular scans for viruses and other malware? Do you keep your web browser and plugins (Flash, PDF viewer, etc.) up to date? Do you keep your operating system up to date?
Also, I've never seen WoW execute anything at the command prompt (the "script window" you describe) before launching itself, even when run via the Launcher. Are you running WoW.exe directly, or Launcher.exe, or running from a shortcut? If a shortcut, have you checked the shortcut properties to verify what it's actually running?

If you use the new experimental graphics API in pach 3.3 (you have to edit the config.WTF file to enable it), you will see a brief 20 or so lines of initialization text in the loading console screen of WoW just before the main login screen. It's screenshotable since the wow engine is already running.

HELP!!!! PLEASE!!!!!

I work Tech Support, I've seen it all.
Try typing it out in notepad and copy paste it in.
/edit: I'm not saying that it will or will not work that way, but... judging by your response...
well you can appreciate the sense of irony in this case then :)
well...It's not gear score, plain and simple. Addons aren't even loaded until after you select what char to login with and then click enter world.
