Hi guys and gals, I'm a beginner when it comes to coding, so I thought I'd try to write an addon!
I wasn't able to find any current addons around that remove the default blizzard minimap buttons for things like "herbalism tracking" and the "voice chat" so that seemed like a (reasonably!) simple place to start :-) I'm hoping to develop this into something quite customisable, for example replacing the blizz herbalism tracking button with a standard size movable one, or possibly sending a blizz button to a panel in fubar.
I'm really unsure where to start although I think I should work out something simple to hide the various blizz buttons (with check boxes to remove them)
If anyone would be able to point me in the right direction or give me a hand (msn?) please reply, I'd very much appreciate the help!
Thanks for the very prompt reply! Yes, I just checked over the 2.3 patch notes, unfortunately I havn't tried it personally with a character on the test realm. Does what you're saying imply that this feature will be built into patch 2.3?
I would still like to try to develop something for the current patch as it will be a good exercise to get me started, and useful too! I am a total beginner so any introduction such as this would be really helpful - anyone willing to work alongside getting something going?
It's an undocumented change, really. Everyone, no matter what class/level has a minimap button for tracking. Clicking it gives a drop-down menu. With it, you can track Innkeepers, Vendors, Flight Masters, (and when acquired:) hunter tracking skills, profession tracking skills, etc.
