From the look of the download page, the "Twitch Client" is being forced on those of us with new computers, or recent upgrades. I was quite content with the v5 client that was just for add-ons. This "Twitch Client" appears to offer a load of other services that quite frankly, I could do without. I don't have a Twitch account, not do I want one. I just want to be able to download and install Curse mods like I used to with minimum fuss.
Where can I download a version of this old, but reliable Curse Client now? I see posts about this being referred to as the "Legacy Client" but all links for it appear to be either dead, or of suspect origin.
You're probably speaking to a dead horse. I am now downloading the 105mb twitch program just to get a few kilobytes of addons to play wow. Guess I'll just go in and disable as much of the twitch stuff that I can. You are not the only one upset about the situation. It's all about the almighty dollar nowadays, which means you get what they give you not what you want.
Yeah, it pretty much died. It was still out there for a while, and I did manage to get hold of a copy. But Curse broke off all support for it a few months ago, so I had to install Twitch regardless. You could still use it, but it no longer was alerted for available updates, rendering it useless.
