All I know, is that I have not experienced it on any other vB forums I've been on. I can be logged in to WoWInterface on my pc, my husband's pc, my laptop, etc all at the same time.
Moonwitch: Tne session getting dropped because you started another session is a security feature that's part of vBulletin. The application actually uses your user agent as part of the session identifier, so when you log in with a different browser they don't match, resulting in the oldest getting dropped. Unless they've changed it in the last year, of course. :P
That has never been a feature in vB (at least v3, which is 4 years old).
Doesn't help. Both my browser at home and my browser at work are configured to delete all cookies and cached pages on exit. Given that I've probably closed and reopened browsers about 50 times since these forums went live, and that the issue has occurred anyway, I'd say this isn't the problem.
Also, I think I've determined that logging in through the forum (i.e. click "reply" when you're logged out, and enter your username and password into the form on the page that appears, and hit submit) never works. The only login that works is the one that's reached by clicking the microscopic "Login" link in the top right "tab" in the header.
I noticed this this morning. I got into an attempt to reply -> login -> attempt to reply -> login -> repeat loop until I realized that the inline vBulletin login doesn't work because of the integration with the CurseForge login system.
instead of breaking all vbulletin stuff perhaps it would have been better to use vbulletins authentication for the forums.. and update a users record before an authentication attempt.

Trust me, I'd be all for dumping all this auto-login stuff XD
I don't think logging in is the problem, though tomorrow I can take another look at that code.
I got logged out before, but when I hit login, I was logged back in without authenticating. Odd.
Keeps happening to me to, i have user cp bookmarked to save clicks, and it said i wasn't logged in, klicked login and was logged in instant without even entering my user details.
I think I posted this already... though I forget where... If not:
re: staying logged in...
It would be nice if we could be logged in from two different locations. As it is now, whenever I log in from my laptop at work, I get logged out at home, and vice versa.
This is actually a.... issue? with the central auth server. Its on our list of things to fix. But with all that's been going on I'm not sure exactly when we'll get to it.

Who created the skin, so we may direct anger related to skins to him/her (I am too transparent to ask it conceiling my true intentions and I am tired after being awoken after a wopping 2 damn hours of freaking sleep)
Most annoyibg for me is that the quicksearch box is vider on the grapic then it is in reallity
so if i klick klike i normally do just at the leftmost part of the box it does not register that i klicked the searchbox, i have to klick about 1cm into the box for it to register, and that were the inputmartker sits (ie first cm of the box is just visual, not really part of the box)
now im starting to get wierd logouts to, worked fine untill today.
I think that was a side affect of our work trying to fix the white page issue. Which we think we've fixed... but then that started, and now we hope that the white page doesn't come back. If you've seen it in the last hour please post to let me know.
Another question... especially to Kaelten: whan exactly do you have 1-2 minutes free to finally merge my accounts? It's been roughly a week now.
I think he has finally got around to that section of that rather long "To Do" list as I got a PM from him earlier today so I can finally scrub that "Newbie" tag from under my name. Yay!
Now if only the forums themes where up and working so I could get rid of that "interesting" background that threatens to send me hunting for the Excedrin.
Please be patient regarding username change/account merge issues.
Even if we don't respond to your PM, we haven't forgotten.
We've been rather busy trying to nail down the source of the White Screen of Death problem, as well as the "randomly logged out" problem (which we may have solved).
Problems that I hope you can agree have a higher precedence; your old accounts aren't going anywhere ;)
I'm revisiting my issue. It's only happening after I log in. The line with FAQ, Member List, etc. is positioned correctly and is the correct size until I log in. Then it becomes smaller and moves down. I changed my font size in FF to 16, which is what it is on the laptop where I haven't changed it at all since install. It has no effect at all. My screen resolution on the machine where this is happening is 1600x1200.
By default, there's supposed to be a link.
Blame the skin creator :p
They are using a custom authentication system as its tied into their curse account authentication system.
The coder that wrote it no longer works at Curse for a good reason, I've been told. I've also been told that about many other Curse things.
Looks like it a curse

If only :(
That'd be nevcairiel.
I'm going to link nev to these few issues

I just encountered this for the first time. I saw "Today's Posts" instead of "New Posts" and realized I was no longer logged in.
