You guys really need to fix the forums to block all these spambots that have been posting lately.
(On a side note, if the upcoming new platform also means new forums, I really hope they aren't anything like the awful custom garbage you're currently using for forums on individual project pages on CurseForge... those are even worse than the forums module for Drupal, and that's saying a lot.)
(Side note #2 - Please stop using randomly-generated names for the username and password fields on the login page for Curse.com. It confuses my password software [both the one built into my browser, and the one built into my password vault software] and forces me to manually copy/paste my password out of my password vault every time I log in... which is even more annoying because even though I have all Curse domains set to keep cookies between sessions, and the cookies are indeed saved, you always force me to log in again to do anything useful.)
New platform's forums are like this: http://wildstar.curseforge.com/forums
They have the ability to learn spam patterns when posts are marked as spam, so that helps quite a bit.
No idea what you're talking about for #2, since I'm rarely ever logged out (maybe once a year?) and when I am, 1Password works just fine. I passed it on, though.
I'll attempt to reserve judgement until I can actually use them, but I can already tell I'm going to have to spend a lot of time on user CSS to make them readable, since it's all tiny fonts crammed into tiny boxes with tiny amounts of whitespace. :(
Yes, that's bad too, but changing colors is much easier than making text sizes readable, because that generally also requires adjusting the size of every single element on the page, especially since everything seems to be hardcoded in pixels (even line height is declared in pixels!) instead of relative units. I am no longer able to reserve judgement after looking at the HTML (with 43724980 class names on every element it looks like the garbage Drupal spews out by default) and CSS, even briefly. :(
I think the fonts in this forum are much smaller by default.
Additionally, the new ones seem to behave quite sanely when just increasing the zoom on that website, using 150% gives quite big fonts which still fit nicely on the screen for me (not that I would need it)
With a darker color theme it looks pretty good imho. Cannot cater to everyones special needs while still making it look good for the 99% I guess.

This is the case for me as well.

Could be, I reskinned this forum years ago, and don't even remember what it looks like by default. :p
This is the case for me as well.
