Just like the majority of UIs shown here I like having my unit frames near the centre of my screen. What I dont like is having my character's unit frame present when I have nothing targeted it looks asymmetrical (I have no idea how to spell that) and not look very good. Im currently using pitbull and its combat fader module to fade out my unit frames when Ive nothing targeted / not in combat. Unfortunately for the last 2 years if you have pitbull's fader and either party or raid frames activated once you enter a battleground pitbull starts to glitch and spew out error messages.
So does oUF, xperl (ewwwww) or any other unit frame addon sport a decent fader? Apologies for posting such a question in here, I promise to post some screen shots of my UI (for what its worth) once Im happy with it.

nice ui you got there, also love your party frames. just some small things, why did you color the day number on your minimap in a diffrent blue? maybe recolor the bf active spell to match the castbar, and the hp/mp font looks akward (maybe make the border a bit thicker to match the style of the ui or try the same font/smaller mb). and for shamy, you use something like shields up so the water orb buff istn so alone down there.
the number on calendar was once classcolored... after i redid the minimap it wasnt, thanks to inform me about that. need to change that again.
If someone posts exactly the same UI, slightly modified, again, i might cry :(
Yes simplesquare is pretty, but must EVERYBODY use Phanx's code over and over and over again? I miss individuality sometimes.
I'm having such a hard time lately coming up with ideas I'm hoping that if I just mash all the UI's I love on here together I'll come up with something amazing. Maybe when my cold goes away my brain will work again.
As hard as I try I can't agree with you Truffle =)
Theres lots of things I wish I could do with my UI that I dont have the knowledge to do yet. Guess the more one learn about this stuff the more original one can be. And it's hard to not use something you really like just because lots of other people like it too. I think it's up to you Obble and others who are more experienced to come up with the more original UI-solutions =) Me, Im just a noob copycat doing my best.
I can NOT get sFilter2 to work, on my mage it does a little. I can't get the bars to show (and yes, I did change the fonts and textures), on my priest I can't get anything to show up :(

I've also been having issues with sFilter2, trying to get the statusbar vertical made it VERY angry. :(

I disagree with this, it's not all about what you know, it's about ideas. I'm totally rubbish at lua, i admit it. But i find code to be the tedious side of making a UI/addon. It's all about the initial inspiration really.

I didn't say it's all about knowledge. But I get alot of ideas that I dont know how to put into effect. For example this border thingy. Prehaps I always wanted a border like that, but without the knowledge I would never be able to have it. I would have to wait until someone with more knowledge would share it.
And I think your definition of "rubbish at lua" differs from mine.

If oUF_CombatFader doesn't fill your needs I might pick up oUF_Fader again.
Currently setup like your's...target just above player with a little portrait on target, i want a different layout that i have in my head but im struggling getting my bar's vertical.. :'(

I'm kind of in the same boat. If he's "rubbish", I'd hate to see where that put me :P
I've learned quite a bit from poking around Neals, Lyn's, and a bunch of others addons and packs. I've been able to figure out how to move things around (oUF and the like) to where I want them and even how to mess around with some buff borders.
I'd love to be able to do what Sojik did to his UI a page or so back and I've been looking at what Maneut did to learn some more but sometimes I just don't get it.
Would I like them to do releases? Sure. But I've never come on here and PM'd Neal or Sojik or asked publicly because I simply think it's not cool to do so.
It also possibly helps me to try and figure it all out for myself, as frustrating as it is sometimes.
Thank goodness for these forums though. I'm not a frequent poster but I must check in a hundred times a day.

The text in that screenshot is priceless though :P
Also, realized I can scale the borders. =.=
Think it would look better if you set the background on both castbar and healthbars to classcolor and a little alpha instead of the solid black imo :)
Looking good overall!

Guess i'm one of the very few with the old-school top-left unitframes. Anyway, open to suggestions/feedback.
Went away from the black. No debufftimer on this one because Im not done fiddeling with it :)

Well, I don't use her code. I love it, but for me, it wasn't what I wanted. But i have to admit, I've not changed my inner layout in ages.
