Your bottom bar idea is really nice. What action bar addon are you using, and did you find the textures somewhere, or make them yourself?
Thanks! I'm glad you mentioned that too, because I've done it again. ;) I had MoBuffs before, to make sure I have all the buffs I need in raids. I use hidden (hide till mouseover) Fortress buttons with the text and icon hidden so that they're skinny boxes that I color. I had two at the bottom left of my screen, Broker_Folks (or something like that) and GroupFu, and at the right corned of my minimap was the MoBuffs button. Anyway, useless info I guess, but anyways I downloaded BuffEnough (you have it so you know what it's like) and got rid of MoBuffs. I stretched the alert box all the way across my screen and put it so that it matches up with my top bar. Then I adjusted the strata so that it's over the art but behind LynStats and LynLocation and adjusted the colors so that it goes with my UI and boom I have top bar that turns red when I'm missing a buff. :D Pretty genius, right?
Onto your other question, I use Dominos. I like the show states feature. I have three bars with them, one with sheep and counterspell on it to show my range to my focus, one to show my range on my target and one I only use in raids (it's hidden till mouseover AND hidden completely when not in a raid). You can see those hidden bars in some of my Screenshots. The lion textures are stock from Blizzard (I may have adjusted the color, can't remember). The borders are Hal's and the bars are Minimalist.
Phanx: I just recently used your minimap border skin code on my minimap and it works great. ( http://pastey.net/95477 )
I'm wondering if you or anyone else could help me with trying to make my Pitbull_Aura borders to use the Buttonfacade_SimpleSquare skin like I did to my minimap. Currently if I replace border.tga in Pitbull\\Aura\\ it ends up looking like this:
I don't use PitBull, but I'd imagine you'd need to edit the code to do a SetTexCoord on the icon so that it doesn't overflow from the borders like that.
The border texture is the one I posted on the last page. The gloss overlay texture is from rMinimap. Everything else can be done with pretty much any minimap addon.
Went and cleaned up my UI, adjusting all the spacing as was suggested to me, added the simpleSquare border texture to the Minimap, removed some Fubar addons, adjusted the positioning of the core unit frames, and got rid of all my panels. Comments and critiques welcome and appreciated.
Also, for some reason, my chat fonts always end up looking like ass, no matter the size, no matter the font, no matter the outline, and I can't seem to get it to look any cleaner. Also, the borders for SBF (simpleSquare) doesn't ever seem to want to retain the colors I set, as is evident in this screenshot. It's also rather hard to get the spacing right since simpleSquare kinda throws you off when aligning :)
Any ideas as to what's causing the font and SBF problems?
EDIT: In case anyone is wondering about the layout of unit frames; Top left is focus, left is player, middle is pet, right is target, top right is target of target. Also, sorry about the quality, couldn't do max quality or it would be over a meg, and every site I upload to resizes it to some god-awful resolution
When setting up my UI for distribution I couldn't get BF save my color selection for Buffalo. It'd always reset on login or reload (I've seen this reported for Buffalo not SBF) so I just edited the texture myself with Gimp. It's a fine solution since it wasn't that hard at all.
EDIT:
As far as C&C, I think you could stand to lose fubar altogether. I also don't like the semitransparent box behind your location text on your minimap. The coords are out of place. I'd remove the box behind those and move them up onto the actual minimap. I'd also like more consistency in the actionbutton spacing as regards horizontal spacing vs vertical spacing. I like your UF but I'd change the font.
