I really like oUF Lily but as a tank its really nice to see who has aggro so I have been using Pitbull which turns red on aggro. If you add this feature I would love to have the code.
I added it. And it works fine atm. I'll need to do some more testing tho.
If player, pet, party1-4 or focus get aggro, their hp/mp bars turn red.
Yes but unless your actually losing performance by using agUF then why change?
Some people treat it like a hobby, how low can you go in memory usage. I think it's amazing what these addons can do with such low memory use.
Personally I change my UI a lot (and I am not any kind of code person), so it's addon need, ease of configuration in game, and reasonable memory footprint that I look for.
A guildmate who is pretty anal about memory usage has been trying to convince me to not use Grid for raid frames (OMG IT USES 1MB+, *1 MB+*!!!!!). That's not going to happen =P

I do treat this like a hobby too, always going lower but i'd never go away from Pitbull, i'll never find anything anywhere near that level of customisation :)
here's my current WIP
1. Finally managed to get the eepanel code working properly to resize according to raid layout.
2. Assessment all the way, for the damage meter and also threat meter now as anyway Omen is only a different way to display Threat-1.0 information (if i'm not mistaken), some tweaks to it to have all bars colored the way i wanted and only the name being class colored.
3. Pitbull all the way, edited lua for bars to change the background alpha, works like a charm.
4. Currently using Bartender3, i'm thinking about switching to Bongo seing lots of ppl doing so, but i still can't decide myself how it would improve something.
5. Only "issue" i'm having is the battleground minimap button, actually the only one ever showing on my map, i'd love to hide it without having to install Visor just for that purpose. (I'm using Squeenix)
6. I'm not happy with the bar textures, currently using Graphite, i'd like to find something less "glossy", not sure...
7. This is 98% Ace addons (not that it's important, just a personal taste), the only non Ace are NECB and BattleCry, i just can't find any decent replacement.
Any idea, comments good or bad, critisism, improvements needed are welcome :)
After being sick for a couple of days, i've played alot of xbox.. Halo3 and Modern Warfare.
So i wanted to make an FPS like UI for WoW, while it might not be the most functional but atleast its clean and minimal.
Still very much a WIP, i'm really not considering anything done. I still want to change the colors, bartextures, fonts, some stuff with the minimap texture etc. etc. etc.

Wooh! This really cool! Nice job! When you release your UI?

I can't even begin to know how to write code is the problem. I can change a setting here and there but to write lines, well, I'm not in the computer programming profession so yeah =P

yeah same for me at first. i aint in the computer programming profession either and when i started i found only a few tuts on how to start but it wasnt enough for me. I started back couples months ago and i got tremendous help from Wraanger(author of vMinimap) and he wrote the base code of ColdUI, which started me, and with his help and WoWWiki i learned more and more. And even tho im far away from "good", i know how to code small things :) and i love working on oUF because the base is already there so it let me experiment a lot.
Coding is mainly just logic. Once you get the general idea, the rest is pure logic and good searching skill on wowwiki and in other mods lol.
All modification are in layout.lua. No change needed in ouf.lua.
I linked the aggro update to the health update. There is maybe better way of doing this by an event or something, but atm i don't care, its working fine for me :)
i forgot to mention that atm, its mainly only tank/dps support as it only works if the person is targeting the mob they have aggro on. But i will add healer support shortly.
atm it check if the target of the player's target is the player, then he have aggro so color it.
i will add that, if the mod target a party member, color that party member.

I don't think it would be a good idea to "release" anything, mainly because of the resolution i'm using, 1920*1200, i don't even want to imagine how to make all this fit in a 19" for example.

Yes, go get oUF and oUF_Lily here: http://wow-haste.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/

Nice, thanks Coldfury.

This is what i have so far.

Edit: I didn't realize until doing this UI that the interface options had a "toggle rotate minimap"
It's awesome :D And pretty much required for my minimap to not be extremely confusing.
Cool way of handling the UI.
More importantly, why not change?
a really nice and clean layout...great work..
Discord Unit Frames is more customizable.

I hope you share! :)
I don't mind the "work" i'll be happy to play around with it when u consider it useable :)
very cool, Grimy :)

I'm happier with this setup, I have to move omen to left a bit (just noticed): http://i15.tinypic.com/87i2due.png

Look for the code between "-- [AGGRO]" comments.
