Without asking for super secret stuff about the inner workings of Curse Points, I am curious whether there is some kind of "waiting period" before new addons start earning points, or whether total downloads over the life of an addon are factored in.
I ask because Speedometer earns me 1-2 points per day, even though it hasn't been updated in 2 years, but Exonumist doesn't show up in the points log at all. Neither addon has much of an audience â Speedometer averaged 2 downloads per day over the last 30 days, while Exonumst averaged 3 â but it seems odd that more people would be downloading an addon that's years old and doesn't really serve any concrete purpose now that Auto Shot clipping doesn't exist, than an addon that's fairly new and actually does something useful. :p
I do believe it goes on number of INSTALLS the client sees, not number of downloads. So if addon A has had one update in a year, and 100 users... while addon B has had 25 updates in the same time, but only 4 users... addon A would get many more points than addon B, even though they've (potentially) had the same number of downloads.
As far as I'm aware, it's only from the client. The money for the whole program comes from the premium users anyway, so the free users' stats wouldn't matter much overall.

(Disclaimer: I think its 1000, but it could be 100. Can't really remember now, been a year ago.)
how many curse points do I get for 1000 downloads
