Why is this even noteworthy? Anyone who downloads and runs an exectuable file believing it's a WoW addon, and doesn't have any virus/malware protection running, is an idiot and deserves to get keylogged. Seriously, it's 2010. The internet has been around for over 20 years. At this point, there's no excuse for anyone falling for this crap.
Right, but there are hundreds, if not thousands, of sites that try to get people to download malware by presenting them as "WoW addons". Report the site and move on. I see no reason to post threads about it on every legitimate WoW addon forum.
I copied this thread over to WoWI. Sometimes users need to be reminded to use common sense (even those that visit the "real" addon sites). A warning about that one site can be seen as a general reminder about smart behavior on the internet. Posting it did not hurt anyone - it could have saved someone. If not directly, then maybe one of their friends. YOU DON'T KNOW. ;) Always use something like this to educate the general public - not shoot down the messenger and say the general public is a bunch of idiots anyway.
