I am feeling rather comfortable with Linux now. This is my current Ubuntu 9.10 desktop:
Clean:
Windows (Firefox and Amarok)
Plenty of tinkering however I am extremely happy with the results. I have even manged to theme the Gnome Indicator-Applet-Session daemon which is something most icon themes miss. Next bit of tinkering involves the KDE icon theme so the KDE apps (like Amarok) icons are more consistent with with my Gnome theme. Likely I will combine a black version of KDE's Oxygen theme (particularly folders) with my Gnome icon theme (Magog White).
The GTK+ 2 Theme is Fundamental combined with the Lithium Metacity theme. Wall paper is from Interfacelift.com.
Here's my current setup. The Rainmeter on the side and Rainlendar on the other side are easily hidden with two clicks, and the icons go away with a double click thanks to Fences by Star Dock.
Rainmeter skin is Enigma, default skin, and Rainlendar skin is StaticaHUD. Sorry I don't have the link in front of me at the moment, but I'm fairly certain its available on customize.org.

A fullsized screenie woul be helfull thou instead of that tiny thing :p
While not a desktop, it is something that I've themed myself from scratch (other than the texture borrowed from Neav, of course. Credit to them for those beautiful borders).
Please note, that usually text under icons are hidden, I have them turned on so that I can identify apps while making the borders. As you can see, a few icons are not done yet. I'm still making them.
I call it Nocturnal Theme :) Let me know what you think.
It's from interfaceLift =)
dont you just love the background.
1920x1080
there is a monitor next to this one, hence the funny double image. it looks smaller but thats only because the resolution is lower; its a 32" lcd tv

This is hopefully going to be a windows 7/leopard dual boot, but I've done enough work just to get it working in the last 3 days.
