Any chance addon authors get a free premium account on curse?
I think I would be fair because our work is an important part of the curse platform right?
It would also encourage authors to upload their addons on curse if the have it only on other sites and thus make the client better (more addons).
Of curse there would have to be some protection from user's uploading useless addons just to get free premium access. Maybe at lest some points in the Rewards Program.
Currently, authors need to be added manually to Premium until Curse sorts out their database backend. You will need to ask Ckknight or Kaelten if you are an author and want the premium a few days earlier if they haven't manually added you yet.
I am just wondering on the duration of the complimentary premium upgrade. It appears to me that it's only for the first month, and I didn't see anywhere that explicitly stated how long it lasts.
After this month does it reduce to the standard subsciption option? Or as long as we maintain an add-on with 1k+ (current limit) downloads, will we maintain our premium status?
I'm guessing that as long as the addon is updated (or at least works) and has a healthy number of downloads (or even over the limit), premium still applies but yes it would be nice if we could get some official confirmation on this.

Premium for authors is updated once a week I think to bring in new authors, being that you need to have at least 1 active addon with more than 1000 downloads.
I would guess this uses the same criteria as are used to automatically flag your projects as "Inactive" if they don't receive any updates for a few months. :|

So what do you think?
T'was actually the plan all along. No idea what happened to snag it for two weeks, but we'll get it.

Myrroddin of Llane, Moderator of Curse's boards, noob of addon development...
It is on a month basis, but it will be auto reissued every month as long as your projects stay active.
Let me know if there is any more clarification needed.
how do you define "active"?
