Basically with all the account hacking going on i'm trying to find if there's an addon that logs everything in your inventory to a text file.. i have quite a few chars and a crap load of stuff and i'd never remember it all.
Or you could just... you know... not let your account be compromised.
Don't click on links in emails "from Blizzard" and enter your username and password without verifying the URL. Don't run executable attachments from e-mail messages entitled "CHEAP V|AGRA!!!!" and written in badly broken English. Don't use Internet Explorer. Don't use the same password for WoW and anything else, or your email and anything else. Don't use a password like "abc123" or your dog's name or your username backwards, for WoW or for your email. Don't share your account.
Do perform regular virus and malware scans with a reputable antivirus/anti-malware program. Make sure you have a good firewall and that it's configured correctly.
It's really not that hard, and it always puzzles me how people get their accounts "hacked" ...although I don't really consider it hacking if someone can just type in your info because they already know it because you did something stupid to give it to them. ???
See this is what worries me, several people in same guild as me have been "hacked" so far and they don't seem the type to have done anything to allow anyone to get their info.. they found no keyloggers or anything. personally i'm not stupid, i've had the email from "blizz" and i've even had a guy ingame trying to offer me free email and of course i use firefox :D i just couldn't help wondering if people were actually hacking accounts. i dunno, just i have more than one and if they get compromised it's alot of work lol
Close to zero accounts got "hacked", most of the time its just the user being stupid and installing Malware/getting infected by malware. Sometimes you cant blame the Users because some exploits are abused before they are known but in 99.99% of the cases its already known and fixed/fixeable by doing something.
Almost nobody running a Router did update their Firmware after the major DNS issue was found and fixed in June/July, although pretty much every manufacturer made Firmware updates available. This can be exploited and the users cant prevent it if he didnt update his OS/Router. (many wowace people fall under the category of people that actually update :P)

Well I know my manufacturer did not upgrade their firmware, and the brand or router is required my our ISP. :(
Hmm ye forgot to mention that, the ones that cant even update :P But you could prolly blame your ISP for it if something happens if you notified them already and asked why they dont fix it.

Thanks for the responses anyway.
Did they ever log onto WoW or the WoW forums/site from a public computer or one that they could not vouch for its security?
Couldn't say, they aren't around to ask but it's highly unlikely... I mysel;f never knew anything about a firmware update to routers *shrug* guess i had better see to that lol
