The author of these nice addons is about to quit WoW:

Because I would hate to see Examiner die, I am looking for someone interested in taking over the project, and any other of my projects really. As I've not really been playing WoW for quite a while now, and I doubt I will get back to it again. Due to this, I cannot reliably keep this addon up to date anymore.
If you are interested, give me a PM here on WoWInterface.
At the moment there're no incompatibilities but it would be a shame if those addons become abandoned. Maybe someone around here likes to take them over.
that's sad news. i use all three of those addons. liked how easy they were to configure. hope someone can eventually take them over or author changes his mind. the way of the addon world though.
Anybody played with lolTip? I've been using Lolzen's oUF layout and like it. Unfortunately, reading code's not my forte...

Trying it out. Seems pretty good. Anchoring/Scaling all done in the lua file. Borders are easily set by the path in the top of the file as well. I'll keep messing about and see how it goes.
Wow, bummer. Examiner is the third inspect addon that I've used, and each one so far has fallen by the wayside and replaced by the next. Hopefully someone will keep it alive.

Yeah, I <3 these inspect-addons. Makes life of checking someone's stuff in a PUG or in PvP a lot easier :)
A tooltip addon for me needs to do 3 things:
a) Get the tooltip on my cursor, but use a smart-tape anchoring for spell/unitframe tooltips.
b) Display spec (ideally abbreviated: 'Demo(6/44/11)' for example).
c) Be as tiny as possible. Health and all is completely optional, as is any "advanced" information. If the tooltip covers 25% of my screen, there's no reason I should have it on the cursor after all.

Head over to WoW:I if you're interested.
You take over it maybe?
It isn't so much "bad" as just incredibly messy.

TipTac has a great config that has to be taken with it

Please do both if you can funky, I absolutely love these 2 mods and if you develop it further I just know the addon wont fail.

The "and more" is the problem - it does to much :)
